The monitor records electricity consumption and converts it into a monetary value, based on the cost price of your electricity. This is recorded by day, week and month, and updates every six seconds, so you can easily see the cost of turning on the tv or making a cup of coffee. Data is stored in the internal memory, and past data can be seen by scrolling through the records.

The box contains:

* 1 x Efergy Sensor
* 1x Transmitter
* 1 x Display Unit
* 2 x Velcro Fixing Pads

If you want a cheaper solution you can get individual plug in energy monitors for around a fiver if you shop around (I got one in aldi a while back). Only problem with the plug in ones is that they dont allow you to monitor your oven or lighting use, though they do make it easier to test one device in isolation.

How can they call it an energy saving meter, it does not save anything, just tells you what you are using !!!

and the only way "you can easily see the cost of turning on the tv or making a cup of coffee" would be if you turned off EVERY other electrical device in the house - an unlikely event!

These are just useless gimmicky products IMHO.

I'd say the only problem with this is having the correct tariffs and keeping them upto date plus our lecky billing is no standing charge, but its clawed back though two confusing day tariffs.

It should at least facilitate energy savings though. I have a plugin version, but these are not quite cheap enough for me yet.

Just looked in the instructions and this model only has one tariff and works out the cost on averages so not much use for us with E7 plus the two day tariffs.
