Travel accident policy
This offers cover for you, your partner and dependant children in the event of accidental death or serious injury while travelling, where the fare for that trip has been paid for with Egg Money.
On 1 July 2009 the insurance provider for this policy will change from St Andrews to AIG UK. Key differences in the level of cover are:
Maximum amount of cover will increase from £50,000 to £100,000.
The age of unmarried, dependant children will be limited to 21 (previously 23).
In-transit purchase protection
This cover was designed to protect purchases costing more than £25 from the point of purchase until you got them home (or for 30 days, whichever comes first). As the new purchase protection insurance we added to Egg Money on 15 May 2009 offers a greater level of cover and protects your purchases for 90 days with zero excess, regardless of whether they're in transit or not, we'll be removing in-transit purchase protection.
New Egg Money insurances
From 15 May 2009 the following insurances were added to your Egg Money account, these are all designed to offer extra protection on the things you buy:
Price promise buy an item using your Egg Money and if you find it cheaper locally within 30 days, we'll refund the difference. Internet purchases are not covered.
Extended warranty use Egg Money to buy any electrical item and get up to 12 months' additional warranty after the manufacturer's warranty expires.
