I don't see how this is a deal because you can't apply for one of these at the moment, unless i'm missing something?
Can't see it on the web yet but I've been using Egg money for years now - it's great. They closed it to new applicants a while ago but sounds like they're opening for more now. Has saved my £100s over the last few years as I buy everything I can on it.

Did u use ur egg money card or the normal egg card???

Egg money (the green card)

I have an Amex Platinum too which looks v cool but after the 5% has expired it's not too clever and I find a lot of smaller shops and restaurants do NOT take it

I used my card at a Shell garage on Xmas eve and have got my cashback already. The 2% should stand until the end of March 09 - stay away from the Sainsbury/Shell garages !

Did u use ur egg money card or the normal egg card???
Never had any probs buying fuel with it.
American Express Platinum gives 5% cashback for the first 3 months & then 1.5% after.
If you can find somewhere that takes it - its fees are so prohibitive that many retailers naturally refuse it.
where does it say 1% on everything?

In the general T's and C's of the card (different to the instant cashback rewards). Trust me you get 1% on everything - see below
Don't confuse this Egg Money card with the general Egg (not so good)

"Get at least 1% cash back on all purchases paid to your account, annually in March. Cash back is paid up to a maximum amount of £200 in each 12 month period (from your March statement to your February statement).

Use your Egg Money card in our selected retailers, and in addition to 1% cash back, you'll receive extra cash back or discount with no maximum limit, which will be credited to your Egg Money account at the same time as your purchase or very soon after "

Egg Card Holders 5% Instant Cashback at Dixons, Currys, and PC World

Just checked this on eggs website and there is no expiry date for pc world and currys cashback deal but dixons expires on 21st december might be useful for egg card holders out there.

this looks good
apply thru quidco and get £30 reward. I did this and it tracked!!

american express also do a £33.75 cashback on qudco for getting their credit card, 5% cashback for 3 months then 1 and half % for ever. but be careful if you miss a payment!!!

I put in egg or egg card in quidco and its finding nothing :whistling:
Be careful if you have already had a direct debit with them and cancelled it as it caused me no end of problems with them as they were charging me fees when they shouldnt. This also nulified the 0% deal. I got all the fees etc back but it was definately not worth all the hassle.

Says until February 2010 on the link page.

Personally, my next card swap will be a Halifax Plus (For the 3rd time. Been switching balances between Halifax, Virgin and Barclaycard for past 4 years) - They are doing 15 months 0% with 3% fee and offer good credit limits.

EGG MONEY 7.9% APR and 1% cashback and 4% gross pa/AER variable on positive balances

I always feel that i spend a lot on credit card and i get nothing out of it.Well i Found EGG MONEY.Egg credit card is different from EGG MONEY. They are offering a fantastic APR OF ONLY 7.9% APR t…

I have the Capital One card, and used it to buy my kitchen with the 4% cashback...made over £400 when it paid up in January. However, now that the cashback has dropped to only 1%, I'm tempted by this for the Dixons 2.5% cashback, and possibly the Virgin wines deal in conjunction with their voucher.

Although no Quidco, there is a possible cashback of up to £20 if you apply for it with these websites:
Language is something only to understand :)

my thoughts exactly.

i have used egg money. cash back is great. as a point of diversity, Capital one also do 1% cashback (higher APR), but bonus it up to 4% for the first three months, which is ideal if you are baout to buy something big.
Don't disagree, however the headline for the deal was the APR not the cashback. Having said that I missed a fair bit of cashback from Egg so it's not always as guaranteed. In your example then it certainly would be worthwhile, however for the average user 1% would tend to be quite negligible.

To put some perspective, as credit card deals go it's quite good, however banks and good deal hardly go hand in hand, bear in mind the rate is vairable and bound to go up when the bank has to tighten it's purse strings

The whole of this deal is to say that u can get a 1% cashback on your purchases and at a very low APR,just in case if u miss payments..I never paid interest that's a diff thing. So this is better than any other card for people who use creditcards and fill them back.Regarding cashback some said that u get them only in march, but doesn't matter ,1 day u wil get it.Something is Better than Nothing.

Example:- i am with firstdirect using my creditcard from an year and i get nothing of it and comparitively i get something here.So ijust felt that its a good deal. Moreover for people who need a small loan can use this card balance as well,As it's only 7.9% APR:thumbsup:.and sorry i am not very good with english but DEAL is a DEAL.Language is something only to understand :)
Great Card with the 4% credit interest i use it like a current account cash back is very fair as well...Had this for ages works very well for me as a debit /savings card
Their claim of 1% cashback on EVERY purchase is at best, misleading. Cashback is limited to a maximum of £200 pa & is only paid once a year, in March.,2388,3_79766--View_1709-bID_EMonCashFAQ-dva_1,00.html#whatiscashback?

£20,000 spend on one card per year. I doubt many people go over that.

i've had this for over a year now, much easier for me. mrs. staffiebull has just applied for an egg card (was £35 quidco) hopefully be here soon, thing is, can she add our joint bank account to her money manager to claim the £10 even tho i have that same bank account in my money manager.
hope that made sense, thanks
I have signed up for it and other than having to use IE (would prefer Firefox),Alex.

I would prefer Firefox too, but they don't seem to allow it.

Using IE only means attracting viruses. :whistling:
I've used this for a couple of years now with no problems. I added my external bank account on it back then, so I'm a little confused if I can still get this ten pounds now for adding a further non egg account to it, or whether it has to be my first. I got nothing back then for doing it, so it really is money for nothing.

Ooops, just seen this.

"If you have already registered and added a non-Egg account to your Egg Money Manager you are not eligible for this offer".
Typical, as always the loyal long standing customer gets no perks. Ho hum
I'm still not convinced ..

When you log in to Egg, using a PC that you've upgraded with Egg Money Manager, your other bank's security details are collected from the password safe on your PC. These details are sent, via your computer, to your bank so you can access your accounts with them securely. Your other bank's balances are then collected and displayed on the 'Your money' page here at Egg, alongside your Egg balances.
i got it a while ago too, not bad for nothing!

I think it's the Egg Money card that offers the Cash Back isn't it?
If so the QuidCo doesn't count as that's ordinary Egg cards that it relates to (at least that's where the link takes you to from QuidCo).

Thanks for the info, thinking of getting an EGG card.

Don't forget to go through Quidco to get £14.50 for a successful application. ;-)
