My apologies, i've edited the post accordingly.

did not see these yesterday but got a king size fitted sheet 200 thread count Egyptian cotton for a tenner, should have been £13

200tc is bog standard
#5
Yep - agree with MrsJ2008, you want minimum 400thread count, 800 is better though, 1600 is horrible oddly enough.

Anywhere in particular you recommend getting bedsheets from?

Also trying to find better towels, tired of thin crap

Try Wallace Sacks - sign up for their offers.
Their sale has just about ended BUT another will be along.
Their 400 thread count is often less expensive than others 200 count & FAR superior. The sheets we've had have been bigger & actually fit the mattress for a change. Egyptian cotton gets better every wash. Have had the 400 & 800 count seconds too - it's hard to tell they are seconds!

Not cheap per se, but cheaper than the equivalent TC from most other places I have checked out.

There is a code JAN55 for £10 off £100 and free delivery, but not sure if it is still valid. 8% Top Cashback also.

I put a deal on here a couple of weeks ago, but nobody liked it because you couldn't get a whole bed set for £1.99.

Wouldn't bother with 200tc as it is not Egyptian about it! I agree with a previous comment that Egyptian is used to boost a value range!

Agree with the earlier comment - 200 thread count isn't exactly 'luxury'. If you're near a branch of HomeSense, they have a good selection of quality bedding at decent prices.

Way too pricey!

I've found some decent stuff from specialist sellers on ebay - the last ones I bought (400tc flat sheets) were better than the same stuff from Wallace Sacks, and about 30% cheaper

I've got some lovely stuff from Wallace Sacks also (in the sale) but something I bought last year was a duvet set from the Tesco's finest range. Washes well and feels nice, have a look on the packet and it will (or did) say what tc it was. Look for 300tc or more.

Went in asda last night and these are still at the reduced price if anyone wants a set.

I agree about HomeSense. I got a set recently for my spare room for around £35 for a double duvet cover, 2 pillow cases and fitted sheet. That was 400, although they do have a range of qualities, at least in the Trafford Centre store.
