TO GET DISCOUNT: ADD LAPTOP TO BASKET + SOMETHING TO THE VALUE OF 3P +.
FOR EXAMPLE: £249.97 + 3p = £250-4%=£240

13.3" TFT Screen
Intel Celeron Dual Processor 585
(2.16GHz, 533Mhz, 512KB Cache)
Genuine Windows Vista (R) Home Basic
512 MB Memory
80 GB Hard Drive

Seems great spec with vista dual core and lovely 13.3" size for portability.

I would suggest buying a 2GB stick of ram, for like £13.49 of Play then this sytem would be sweet dual core + 2GB with 1 slot 2.5GB with 2 slots for under £265 with no reductions!

not voting as it would normally be ok for somebody looking for a cheap lappy, but ATM with the tesco clearances going on, not looking too good.

One thing have to say to that, I phoned 20 of my local stores none of them had any laptops/net books in stock available to buy. This is... So stop moaning about a clearance offer which there is probably only about around cheap, cheap one available, I think it is a great spec laptop for a good price, and 13.3" bit like a net book, this deal you are guaranteed from Dixons, others you waist time finding...

is this any/much more powerful than the 129.99 acers netbooks?
less ram and seems processor is worse according to
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php
if i am looking at right processor anyway

never heard of the graphics but that could just be me.. but is this just a weak big netbook?

Lots of people are getting stock. I wasn't moaning just expressing my opinion that at the moment it would seem sensible to look at tesco as it may be possible to get a much better laptop for the same money. I realise there is some areas with no stock but that's why I said I wasn't voting one way or another.

Although billed as a 13.3 inch laptop it is built into a 14.1 inch chassis and weighs 2.9kg. So it's not like other ultra portables weighing 2kg or less, it's more like a standard laptop with a small screen. For what it is the price is OK but you have to factor in buying more memory because 512mb and Vista are going to struggle.

512mb is not enough for a computer nowadays.
Voted cold.
Would need to upgrade memory straight away.

Good price but with limitations - it has Vista Basic which only allows you to run 3 applications at a time (I kid you not) so youd get frustrated with having to close something down if you run a few at a time. If you upgraded to Vista Home Premium you have the extra cost but then you'd also need to increase the memory because you would would be running more applications at the same time so the cost to get this working as most people would want would be a fair chunk more.

However if you are low on funds and need internet access then its a good deal - the resolution whilst not great will surpass that of a netbook so itll be easier to read small writing on websites IMO.
