Down from £20 to £6 apparently. No p&p if you click and collect. Age from 5 years

The image quality on telescopes like this are DREADFUL. Will be like looking through the end of a milk bottle. If you want a cheap(ish) kids telescope that the nippers will actually be able to see something through then this is a really good bet.

Telescopes are one of those products where you have to spend a bit of money to get something which works. With these toy ones you will actually less than just using your eyes.

A waste of £6. Anyone interested in one for the kids should probably start off here:
£45 http://www.firstlightoptics.com/heritage/skywatcher-heritage-76-mini-dobsonian.html
£89 http://www.firstlightoptics.com/heritage/skywatcher-heritage-100p-tabletop-dobsonian.html

I realise they are much more than the ELC telescope, but you need to spend more to get decent optics that enable you to actually see stuff!

best for starting off in astronomy is a pear of good binoculars.
7x50, 10x50, even 8x40
should do with a tripod and binocular adaptor.

much more light gathering ability with two eyes. I think it like 4x the contrast

I tried to use pears as binoculars once & they mushed in my eyes.

Soil pipes are better, get more light down to the eyes.

It's a kids telescope for £6 FFS! Is Patrick Moore still alive and posting on here?

It's a worthless bag o' sh*te for £6. Save yourself the effort and just get it delivered straight to your nearest landfill.

As toy telescopes go these are much better value for money and will have better optics. The local pound shop does them in bags of 15 for a quid.

I agree with most of the comments here - the image quality will be so poor as to put kids off astronomy rather than get them interested.

It's so poor you can actually look at the sun........
