Amazing game, so much play time for £3.74!

Isn't this one a bit difficult to play these days though, I've heard that once you try Skyrim then this game feels pretty much prehistoric.
#4
Not prehistoric.. frankly it's nice to get out of the cold for a while.

In fact you do find some people still preferring this game to Skyrim. I'd try both, they're excellent.

Prefer the music and visual style of Oblivion. Grab Quarls HD texture pack and you're laughing.

It's a much better game than Skyrim.
#9
What are you basing that on exactly?

I enjoyed this more than Skyrim, great price for a great game! Heat added.

Better world, better faction quests, better side quests, better characters, better story
#13
Fair enough. :)

I'm considering either this or Vampire Bloodlines but I'm not sure if I would ever get around to playing them considering my current Steam backlog.
#14
The Thieves Guild quest in Skyrim was almost enough to put me off it for good tbh.

Excellent price for an awesome game with stupid ammounts of playtime. +heat

Fantasy games should have that fantastic setting, skyrim was a bit too colorless and more dull in terms of artwork. Still a great game though.

What a pathetic comment. Be gone filthy troll.

Fantastic price. Get Morrowind with this and install MorrOblivion and you will quickly see that hundreds of hours of your life will be sucked away.

Although Skyrim is fantastic, I do agree with people in that it wasnt very diverse, and I do prefer the music / setting of Cyrodiil.

damn I only bought the GOTY version. Then again I don't think I've ever played a dlc in my life.

Yeh I got goty. Already had on Xbox and didn't finish all of it' no way near. Shivering isles is awesome. I thought most of the other dlc was pretty much item based? I.e Armor

Lol. Skyrim is a miles better game. Graphically, the world and quests are more interesting. The leveling up vs challenge is also much better setup.

Oblivion is still an amazing game and well worth this price.

Small size DL really

Personally prefer Oblivion, there were a lot of rubbish changes in Skyrim, everything was too simple, the landscape was a bit dull, the loading screens frankly drove me insane and it didn't leave me the same nostalgia that Oblivion did. Although Skyrim did have a lockpicking system that was usable - swings and roundabouts.

And Oblivion loading times didn't drive you insane!?! Try playing Oblivion when it first came out on the Xbox! The loading times were so bad I actually ended up selling the game because of it.

Both Skyrim and Oblivion are ok, I didn't enjoy them massively since they had so many bugs an glitches that took them a while to sort out or made the game very easy. The main storyline in oblivion is much better as in Skyrim even simpletons were killing dragons like nothing happened and overall dragons were so much easier to kill than a troll or something making it pretty rubbish. Good game for under £5 but nothing amazing really.

The Skyrim engine and gameplay is ALOT better. Character interaction is better, fighting is better, the graphics are better, the gameplay better overall.

Oblivion is tediously chuggy in comparison. It's like going back to play Doom on a 486DX and forgetting about HL, HL2, Fallout 3 and all the other FPS/RPGs out there. Oblivion came out when? 2007? It's ancient in gaming terms. The industry has moved on.

You forgot to add the comment 'in my opinion' ! To dismiss a 5 year old game as ancient, therefore by definition, not worth playing is ridiculous and pretty immature. Many will disagree with every statement you made bar maybe that the Skyrim engine & graphics are better and you agreeing that this a good price. This was a deal for Oblivion. As Skyrim currently costs 6 times this price on Steam, the Skyrim vs Oblivion debate is pretty pointless really.
