The Elder Scrolls Online is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) set in Tamriel, the ancient land that includes the provinces of Morrowind, Daggerfall, and Skyrim. The game takes place 1,000 years before the events of Skyrim, during the Age of Heroes. Embark on an epic adventure to save the land from a seemingly unstoppable evil in a sprawling storyline that can be experienced on your own or with friends.

The Epic Story

It is a time of strife and unrest. Armies of revenants and dark spirits manifest in every corner of Tamriel. Winters grow colder and crops fail. Mystics are plagued by nightmares and portents of doom.

Four years ago, in 2E 578, an arcane explosion of energy in the Imperial City set off mystical aftershocks that swept across Nirn. Mages died or went mad. Supernatural abominations from the plane of Oblivion, the Daedra, appeared in greater numbers than ever before. The constellation of the Serpent grew so large that it dominated the night sky.

So began the grand scheme of Molag Bal, Daedric Prince of domination and enslavement. His Dark Anchors, vortexes of evil magic, weaken the barrier between worlds, threatening to merge Nirn and Oblivion into a single, nightmarish hellscape.

In the midst of this chaos, three alliances vie for control of the Imperial City and the White-Gold Tower. High Rock, Sentinel, and Orsinium stand as one, united under the rule of the High King in Wayrest, Valenwood and Elsweyr have forged an alliance with Summerset, and Black Marsh, Morrowind, and Skyrim have joined forces and formed their own uneasy pact.

The Daggerfall Covenant. The Aldmeri Dominion. The Ebonheart Pact.

Three armies will take up arms against the Empire, and against each other, to wrest control of the Imperial City and White-Gold Tower from the dark forces of Oblivion itself.

Where do your loyalties lie?

if I wasn't knee deep in wildstar, I would give this a shot at this price. heat given :)

Urgh. Pay for a game. Like that game? Pay for it again! And again!.. And again... And again... Cancel game... Game becomes free to play...

this games flopping more than my moobs!

f2p anyone?
#5
Good price, crap game. Was bored within a week. Wildstar is far superior...

They need to drop that subscription fee. It takes a particular type of MMO and fanbase to pull that off and even Warcraft is struggling these days.

SWTOR never left the ground when it had a fee and that was a Star Wars MMO created by Bioware. Zenimax really should have seen this coming.

I thought the beta was quite fun but I won't pay a subscription for an MMO and neither will most other people these days. If they'd opted for the Guild Wars 2 model then this could have been huge.

Said this from the start. Cant be sub and expect you to form out for the game also.
Those days are behind us now. Way too many f2p mmorpg for this be feasible.

Sub only or f2p & microtransactions.

Not really, there is 100x more things to do/variations to levelling than your standard MMO. I'm sorry you haven't found them.

I've played almost every western MMO and most eastern MMO's since the release of WoW (which I played from day 2 of release). This is without a doubt the most complete, varied and enjoyable MMO since WoW.

Well to be fair, I found WoW to be about as enjoyable as dental work so I think you and I just have different tastes.

I think a lot of those stick with it just because they dont want to lose an investment tbh.

It takes a brave person to quit and admit that they've wasted thousands of hours of their life.

Time you enjoy wasting, isn't time wasted.

Also, TIL a vast majority of 12 million people are chasing broken dreams and investments. Thanks for that.

I didn't say a vast majority, I said some of them. I know those cases exist because I've met people in that situation. Some of them have given up, others have sold their accounts and the rest just keep subscribing out of habit.

"I think a lot of those stick with it just because they dont want to lose an investment tbh". 'Some' and 'lot' are two very different words, make up your mind which you want to pick. In reality, "a lot" of 12 million people is anything but 'some' of 12 million people. You seem to be having problems determining which point of view you want to argue, so I'm going to go ahead and state the obvious... your entire argument is pointless since the foundations are one thing then another.

I wouldn't say that 'a lot' is equal to a majority. A lot could be understood as approximately 40-50% for example.

Anyway, I don't see any point in going into this further and you seem to be taking it all very personally. You like WoW, I think it's a bag of ****. Both opinions are equally valid and if it still represents value to you then that's great.

Your opinion means nothing, mine on the other hand means something. Since I don't swing from one set of rhetoric to another. I don't take the opinion personally, I take it personally when someone like you tries to debate an opinion with me when you're too intellectually inept to read what you even write.

Sound advice, coming from someone who shouldn't be let out in the general public. The ol' no life comments, when you've beaten it's always the best resort. I'll take it up with my Doctor, the conversation will go a little something like this:

Me: "So, some **** biscuit told me I should get out more..."

Doctor: "Right, why did they tell you this? What was the basis..."

Me: "I made them look stupid and they ran out of things to say..."

Doctor: "Oh OK. Well that is unfortunate"

Me: "Yes, it is."

Doctor: "Well, I wouldn't worry about it - it should go away in a few days. If not then I'll prescribe you a cup of care to **** in and we'll get the results ASAP."

Me: Well thanks, Doc. CYA

Well me + 12 million other people, I guess.

Wow, you certainly have a high opinion of yourself for someone who likes to spend their time endlessly slaying Orcs and griefing people on forums.

I think you need to grow up or, at the very least, develop a sense of humour.

Yep, you're right. That's all I do, I just love it so much - because their intellect is mirrored from yours, so it's like I'm slaying you. Feels good tbh.

I think you need to get out more.

CYA

You didn't make me look stupid. You made yourself look stupid (and sad and pathetic I might add).

OH GOD IT WON'T STOP. Two more days!!!!
