we have one-well we have had it years from woolworths, its brilliant but is powered by the car cigarette lighter..but we got a mains lead fom the camping shop, you can then cool it at home and chill before you get in the car or use in the garden or just at xmas as a drinks fridge etc.
We have also taken our on the plane to use in hotel rooms.
£35 is a good price if you get the mains lead tho xx

Can these keep ice creams frozen?
#9
Would this do just as a mini fridge for a caravan? Ie, could you leave it plugged in for a whole weekend?

We got one last year from Lidl/Aldi?, looks like a slight different model, paid the same price, good bit of kit. Used in the car at 40c in Spain & South France, stuff that is already cool/frozen seems to stay that way. Plug it into the mains a few hours before you go out to cool the box and contents down for max enjoyment!!!

Note of caution - make sure you know what you're buying. I bought one of these thinking I could use it as a fridge. My mistake. It does what it says on the tin - It's good at keeping cold things cold, but doesn't have the oomph to actually cool things down.

Bought one of these 4 years ago from aldi, used it every time we have been camping, 2 weeks at a time. Never failed us as long as you cool the box down first it will keep things fresh for up too 3 days. So as long as the box is cool first it will actually cool things down as long as you dont overload it and block the fan up.. This imo is a good buy.

Agree - that's pretty much how we use ours. Not too good at keeping ice cream frozen for more than a few days particularly if you are using (taking it out of the coolbox) the ice cream in the meanwhile.

Not always the case - I got one from makro that was actually freezing drinks. It depends how heavily you stock it. Leave room for the cold air to circulate round the food and these things can cool stuff down. People often make the mistake of stuffing them full. That said i can't vouch for this particular one, but the one I got from makro was class.
