just ordered one, was tempted before but this is cheaper than a night out now! always wanted to learn properly rather than just messing around as ive done before. Can anyone recommend a good beginners book?
#6

Justin guitar is a really good website which gives free lessons.

He's also got a dvd which i've got and is very usefull for beginners

i would also strongly suggest that you buy an elecronic tuner too - i doubt a beginner would be able to do it using pipes. some spare strings too - and maybe a pack of various plectrums???? i know it adds a few quid on to the total but you'll have no fun with a guitar thats out of tune or that only has 4 strings 'cos you've snapped 2 trying to tune them on pipes!!! the plectrums dont really matter that much just yet!!! on ebay - tuners £5?, strings 2 packs for £5 and 20 mixed plectrums £2 - have fun!!

great one m8.. was just looking for a starter kit.
I combined with Logitech speakers, so as to make ebuyer total >£50 (ex VAT) and got shipping free.

ok, fill your boots.

Get yourselves down to lidl's, i popped in there today (neath) and they had:

Yamaha electronic guitar tuners @ £14.99
Guitar stands @ £7.99
Boom arm microphone stands @ ?

Can't see these on their website, but they had stacks of them, might have been other stuff, but I did not look too closely
#17
Forgive my ignorance but what's the "whistle" for ?

its to tune your guitar to - you whistle and try to tune a string to it :whistling:

have you ever seen david gilmour pull a whistle out of his pocket and start whistling and fiddling with his machine heads??? - exactly - its not the best way to tune up - lets put it that way!

Turn your computer speakers up and you can play along with the computer regardless what sort of guitar you have.

Cue lightning flash and deep menacing laugh. Scary.

Not quite what the user reviews indicate though.

i bought one a few weeks ago - its amazing value for the money.

action is spot on and as its a strat copy its very easy to raise or lower it anyway.

you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of it.

i used to own a £300 guitar a few years ago before the kids came along and from memory this ebuyer one is easier to play.

Dont know?

If you got one of these for under £40, bravo. No one...and I mean no one should buy an expensive guitar to start of with. Even a great price for experienced players just to use as a de-tuned guitar
#37
Sister in law bought one of these last year for her daughter and has nothing but praise for it, excellent for a beginner.
