There was a good write-up in my local paper about him the day he passed away as he was from the midlands (Coseley, other side of town to me) and played in many local clubs right up to when he died. My brother was more of an ELO fan but this is a great idea as a mark of respect.

WickedLester: Can I suggest you change the price & link for the HMV carbon neutral packaging (as link below) then you can really say its a fitting tribute and a bargain at the same time

Im voting hot either way.

p.s. mind you this is a pretty good deal 3 x expanded editions of Time/Secret Messages/Eldorado for £6.79

Grew up with ELO always playing at home, great stuff. Sad to hear about the band member dying.

Voted hot!

Note! On vinyl not live in my Mum and Dads Lounge!

ELO & ABBA just a mouse click apart...what superb memories...did you know Jeff Lynne worked with Agnetha Faltskog after she left Abba.

Buggar, didn't know he had died, and I am 1 of ELO's biggest fans, will log onto their webby now, thanks for this.

I've still got my original CD copy of Out of the Blue from many years ago. An absolute must for any collection.

An absolute classic album, and a lovely sounding remaster. Not the extra's we were hoping for, but FAB all the same.

RIP Kelly G

Voted hot - great band - love their music.

Can someone tell me what is the carbon Neutral Pack - does this come without a jewel box, or is it a download??

Thanks in advance to someone who can explain

They all say that sex sells... Sadly not as well as death.

Top band and I'm glad to say I already have most of their stuff, be it vinyl or CD!

I'm sorry but call me cynical, but a record label reissues an album at £11.99 "in memoriam".

Don't get me wrong it's a super album and excellent group, but it just smacks of commercial opportunism. If profits were going to the family or a charity then fair enough...

He only died last week, this CD was re-issued in 2007 so they didn't rush it out after his death to cash in. The OP has posted it as a mark of respect and its some of his/their finest work, although I'm not sure why he posted play's version as its one of the dearest . You can get it cheaper as you will see from the posts on page 1

p.s. I live a few miles down the road from Penkridge

I don't think that this has been re-issued in memorium AutumnPenkridge.

This was the very first 'proper' album I bought back when I was about 12 or 13. I remember having to wait until after New Year to spend my Christmas money on it because in those days all the shops were closed from Christmas Eve until January 2nd. I also remember I got it from Woolies and of course it was all fields back then.

I hadn't heard that Kelly had passed away so that is quite sad news - I always liked his impressive facial hair. Is elomusic.com the official website? I only ask because, apart from in the forum over there, there appears to be no mention of his death which is even sadder!

Thanks, absolutely no disrespect intended, I misunderstood that it was posted as a "mark of respect" rather than as a strict deal. As I said top band, top album.

PS See you round Penky market, Prof!

Crikey, haven't been round there for years! Missus used to drag me there every Saturday - thankfully she saw sense! Actually it wasn't that bad, was the only place I could get those Burton's Fish & Chip flavour crisps/snack at the time - whatever happened to those??

Yeah, I originally thought this was the limited edition digipack that came with the cut out spaceship etc. Thanks to all who posted cheaper links. I'd met Kelly a few times and a nicer guy you couldn't hope to meet.

ELO really did produce a great body of work and in my opinion remain one of our greatest underrated bands. Yes, I am biased having been a fan since I was 9.

Obviously lot's of history and opinions regarding him and Jeff Lynne, the whole ELO PtII/Orchestra tours, but without Kelly a lot of us would never have heard these songs live, including a planned tour this year.

RIP Kelly.

It's an actual CD not a download - I think it just means that they have offset the carbon used to produce the item, so it's more environmentally friendly. And a bargain for this fab album at £2.99!

It's carbon neutral because it's made out of recycled washing up liquid bottles.:p

My goodness, that's going back a bit. Reminds me I used to have Blondie's Parallel Lines picture disk - wish I knew where it was now.

Well I've just today received my Carbon Neutral copy of this classic album, and I'm sorry to say that it does'nt sound nearly as good as the previous un-remastered CD release. Maybe the master tapes have deteriorated over the years, or the remastering engineer just had cloth ears, but compared directly with the original release, it just lacks the same *spark*. For the price of a pint though, I ain't complaining too much.
