If you don't mind a trudge to Argos sometime soon (not sure when the offer ends) they have a Bike Computer half price currently at £3.99 their # 3333891

Are the cheapo ones likely to be fairly accurate still?

Might go fetch the Argos one......

I just happen to buy one of these. It took about 7 days to arrive.

I think they are very good for the money if you a prepared to wait for delivery.

It needs the circumference of the wheel for the speed. I think it is quite accurate, and the nice think it the clock.

The only downside is the reciver which clips on the fork leg, which looks like a plastic version of a jubblie clip, which i did overtighten and striped the thread.:?

can't see why not it is the simplist of maths involved so how could they get it wrong?
