I was thinking the same....tis another gadget though

I'd definately pick one of these up at that price, but my local Sainsbury's is pants and the next closest one is MILES away.. Heat added though, as it's a top deal.

Just be aware they aren't amazingly secure. Although I have one and am happy it will atleast slow a theif down a bit and especially if it's hidden away and bolted down properly too.
#8
Neither of Folkestones Sainsburys have it :(

Exactly ! I have (thought I) wanted one of these for months after seeing them in Woolies for around £30 , I saw these for £7.50 in Hereford and happily put it in my trolley then as i was wheeling it round I wondered what the hell I needed it for and put it back

LOL sorry, that wasnt a serious size, was taking the mick out of the word "measurements" :-D

Not very funny, I agree...

Utter waste of time, you can defeat the magnetic based locks by hitting with a hammer.

I doubt people will be stashing gold bullion within it. I use mine for stashing things which I don't want my family or associates seeing. Valuables are stored in a much safer place.

Dirty mags?
#19
Same thing though, getting into them is trivially easy, regardless of what youre putting in there. You might as well tie a carrier bag around the contents.
#20
Is it fireproof? If so, handy for stashing passports, documents etc.

Bolted down :w00t: !

Sod that, just put it in the wall it's easy enough.

Shame, not much use to me then.

Please dont buy this safe. Checkout the youtube videos of people opening these electronic safes with potatoes, lighters extendible magnets and their bare hands.

You might as well store your valuables in the cardboard box it comes in.

they were this price there 6 months or so ago - I got two then.
#31
I'm tempted to go for this....buy it just to store something in there, rather than valuables :p
#32
Dropped by Aberdeen Berryden store and there was 3 on the shelf but they are still priced £39.99 and got them price checked and they aint reduced......at least not yet.

They've changed the solenoid since then.

I can't be bothered to go & wack mine to test it, but I keep my medium priced jewelry in it. The theory being a thief will take the lot & not lift the floorboards looking for the good stuff.

Scarily my neighbours just got big-time burgled - both our families and a few more were at a family/kids birthday at a nearby hall. Obviously the guys knew what they were doing as the cars weren't in the drive etc - I reckon he/she/they were in the house for over 2 hours. A bolted down safe like this would have meant some security for the items taken - some cash and a lot of jewelery (over £8k sadly) - or at very least meant slowing them down, meaning the whole house wouldn't have been trashed. True - if they'd borrowed some tools from garage, they could have eventually removed it and then youtube'd the solution - but most burglars do not have brains unlike most on this thread...

what part of "in store only"dont you understand? :w00t:
#38
I think they are a good idea, we have one in every bedroom so that kids can put their passports, driving licence etc in and if they don't they can't blame anyone else for moving it.
Also an extra large one for house deeds and birth certificates.
Every security device has a way of dissarming it but the ones I have cannot be opened with a potato. I know as the battery went flat and we had lost the key, nightmare!!!
#39
22.49 in my local one. perhaps store specific.
#40
definately store specific. just got back from the oldbury branch and they are currently priced at £29.99. the lowest they have been in that store is £14.99 during a promo but since then they have gone back up.
