yummy elephant flour!

Anyone else confirm this? Just want to double check before I make a special trip out -- it's hard enough to find a 1kg bag for a couple of quid, let alone 10kg!!
#3
Whats the normal RRP of a 10kg bag??

Was £4.98 a few weeks ago:

Thought I'd seen this before!!

You must like a lot of chapattis though....

Not quite sure... but would be worth ringing stores up to find out.
#15
So this has been voted hot without any verification if the offer is nationwide.
#16
£6.97 at our local store, so cant be voted as hot
#17
Glad someone added the word flour , I'd have thought 10kg of Elephant Atta would have been something for the roses!

Neat little tip for anyone buying flour that's not going to be used immediately: Wrap it in clingfilm. I used to have a great range of flours in my cupboard for anything I fancied making, until one day I fancied making pancakes, and found tiny little flour mites in the plain white flour. I checked the bread, the wholemeal, the self raising, the corn, and the other pack of plain white flour too, and they all had them in. Little shts. I guess one bag that I bought must've been contaminated with them, and they must've just spread out in search of more food. It sucked. Whether wrapping in clingfilm would've stopped them or not I don't know, but it's maybe worth considering.

I don't understand why people are phoning their local stores?
This is a misprice, not an actual 'deal'/offer.

This ones gone over my head I'm afraid - what the HELL does Joe Public want 10 kilos of flour at a time for?

To Use :whistling:
Depends on how many Chappati's you make a week, 10kg is quite small for an average asian family.... we normally get a 32kg :-D to last us a few months

I laught at your puny use of atta! 32kg would barely last us a month - ok six weeks!

Had similar experience keeping flour for over a few months. I think the only way to store it really is in tupperware type boxes. I think flour does go off after a while, by the way.:whistling:

im not voting hot or cold.

the original poster has got the deal at £2 and nobody else has posted to say they have managed to get it for the same price.

it looks like a one-off store thing

good deal for the OP

it would be good practise for those who manage to get the deal for the same price to vote hot, otherwise its rather misleading
#32
I've had the little mites in my stuff too, got into anything with carbohydrates, flour, pasta etc, even unopened packets of flour. I now keep all my flour in individual sealed klip-it boxes, to minimise damage.
#33
Elephant atta is ok, but we get fresh wheat flour from a local mill (£5 for 10kg) and it's too good for making chapatis or paratha or poori!
As it's misprice not voting hot, though!
#34
this does not work
