I agree, it's a waste of £80. These are so crap.
They are slow, badley designed, has a bad keyboard and mouse.
The only good unique feature is that you can remove the keyboard and just use the screen, which has the motherboard built in.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

As said before on the many posts advertising this machine recently, stay away and buy some beer instead. It is shockingly bad

I believe they do have an effective double negative detection feature.

Doesn't even have wifi!

£80 for a door wedge..
youve got to be kidding!!
avoid at all costs, most mobiles are more capable and powerful than this pile!
#7
not that it matters as this is bombing but already posted :whistling:

I may buy one when it is £20 - £30 including delivery.

This is faster due to the specially designed Linux OS installed on it so 400mhz appears faster than on a windows machine.

I have used one before and it is very good for basic web activity and the open office software it comes with so it is more than suitable as a temporary machine. This is good compared to the £100 launch price and shouldn't be frowned on by PC snobbery from people who don't know what it is aimed at.

It weighs the same as a airport bestseller
It HAS got wireless
No major moving parts( if Key come off due to a fall it is probably screwed anyway)
Linux is stable and secure and far less vumerabilities and virus
Linux runs the internet ( well the majority )
Linux does not matter here , your just trying to get to the broswer

Take this into the Kitchen for recipes
Take it on hols
Give it to the kids ( entire reset done on a SD card here )
Use as a remote terminal to other machines

Dammit - screw it to a wall and call it a Skype phone or a a door entry viewer

This is not an abonination -just a cheap no-frills laptop

Superb post Coco. It's about time people stopped snobbery towards PC's when they have no idea.

On the other hand, it should be frowned on, laughed at and generally avoided but everyone who does know what it's aimed at. When you can get a significantly more usable refurbished eee PC for £100 (i.e. it actually supports things are common as youtube, windows networks and Microsoft Office 2007 files) the only reason to get this is if you need it for a specific purpose or if you fully understand it's limitations.

Why get a refurb when you can get first hand? It does run youtube, it runs on my windows networks and also Open Office handles 07 files.
