The Agora gets some medium reviews, but the killeer for me is the 3hour battery life.
Not bad if you really just want a cheap tablet PC running Android.

Have a look at the Kogan Agora tablet

Have a look at the Kogan Agora tablet
on the Kogan website.
Looks interesting but slightly underspecced compared to the Vega, with slower processor and no full sized USB. Not sure this would have the all-round support of the Vega either, and these things only really come into their own with mods.
Good find though, could be just what someone is looking for.

no 1ghz for the money seems a bit low spec
I personalkly think your better off with the vega. This has a 800mhz processor and thr vega a dual core 1000mhz. Vega is more likely to run honeycombe better and to get it. This is obviusly an improvement from the 1st gen which were poor.
Could I ask that everyone looks at this in paticular, elonex blade. The better model, priced at £189

Worthy alternative to advent vega which some people do not like the screen on?

I'd rather spend £600 more for an iPad
Does anyone else get the Shop page blocked as a threat? Very odd

Totally agree. For me any ebook reader that doesn't use eInk is a waste of time. The biggest advantages of a separate reader are battery life and not having a back light. So many reviewers don't seem to 'get' this because they often spend a few hours playing with it rather than a 6 hour flight reading from it.
Absolutely true. I am beginning to suspect that these reviewers don't even read books anyway.

Why do you need a colour screen to read a book?

I guess people want to use them for newspapers and magazines as well as books

Completely agree. I've read through many a book on my Sony pocket ereader. Why do you need a colour screen to read a book? Unless it's a kids book?

Maybe I should patent a 3D colour screen ebook to replace my sons pop up books. :p

On a side note, the Elenox ebook readers I got from Boarders for £35 were easier to read from than the Sony one but the plastic casing was a fingerprint magnet.

I have an elonex websufer/netbook which I suspect is similar to this. It has a c7-m chip. OK for most things like HUKD, facebook email, office tasks and watching xvid. It can't handle flash based games (slow down) iplayer is very choppy with the picture freezing and youtube isn't much better. My advice would be to avoid.
EndlessWaves;7939039
You reckon this is a Via C7 and not a Nano then?

Yes, it appears to be a larger screened version of this, which is the C7-M reference design.
Chinny_racoon;7935403
It's OK, but the EEEs and Acers are significantly better. This uses a VIA chip.

I vowed never to buy an Acer again after one lemon and no support whatsoever. That was 7 years ago so I've done well.

:santa: Hello all.I have just purchased 2 elonex one t + and i am getting really frustrated with the fact that a week before christmas, elonex cannot give me a solid reason how to or why not i cannot connect to my virgin media broadband modem or wireless router!!!!can anyone help pleeeease!!!:x
There is a patch available to use with mobile broadband now,I dont us eit myself, but other said it is working well.
I bought a bunch of these, and to be honest, they're not bad for the cash. With asus 7" netbooks tumbling in price right now, and with Asus announcing that their entry-level netbook will be 9" in 2009, the price isn't very competitive, but they're actually okay. I think < £100 is really the price bracket they should be targeting because it simply cannot compete with the eeepc. I know because I have both 7" and 9" (which I'm using right now).

One of the main problems is that the Elonex can't use mobile broadband straight out of the box, although it does have wireless G, which has worked flawlessly for me. As a mobile internet device, it really needs to work with mobile broadband.

I have to say that with the OneT, I have not noticed any massive key lag. I think that was more a problem with the regular One.

I also have a brand new, unused, white one, which I might put up for sale here.

Could you buy one for £130 somewhere?

Ebay now, and possibly the 2GB and 4GB Surf models after Xmas if the pound does not take another drubbing.
If you are happy with open box items then £132 plus p&p gets you this eeePC in pink from Microwarehouse.
There are so many netbook models on the market with more to come, that prices of the 1st generation models are falling like a stone.

With a meagre 128MB of ram, you would want to add a bit just to surf the web with more than a couple of tabs open or be assiduous in blocking java/flash ads and other resource hoggers. That alone speaks for spending a little more on the and getting the eeePC instead.
sconto;3468825
I would still pay £20-30 more for a eee. I bought a eee surf 4gb for £170 5 months ago and very happy with it.....

This isn't the Elonex web book, it's the Elonex One.
Had one
Would not connect to internet
Sent back for a refund
Out of pocket for postage and hours of calls as well
thanks all, i gave some alternatives to my brother as he was buying for his daughter, he seemed to think that this was a good system,
I'd pay the extra £70-100 and get a low end Netbook such as the Acer Aspire One or a cheap Asus EEE. A 300Mhz processor is REALLY bad. I know the £100 price tag is tempting, but this will be very slow.
+ £10 Delivery.

HI, I finally received my laptop for my daughter (turned out quite nice timing for her birthday in September) she only used it for about a week and has now gone completely dead, wont charge up or work with the adaptor (I have tried a different adaptor incase it was that at fault) but it isnt the charger - I emailed them as there was no contact info on the website - I have tried for weeks getting through on their customer services line and also their tech support line and have held on for over 20 minutes each time and no response (the tech line itself is a joke it tells you you are next in line then jumps back to me being 3rd in line then 2nd then 5th - doesnt inspire confidence when they cant sort their own phone line out !!!

I got through on customer services ONCE hurrah but as it had gone past 5pm the tech guys had gone home so he took my details and said would ring me back, surprise, surprise NO CALL BACK -

Has anyone else had any problems ??

Due to several delivery delays I asked for a refund but only got £99 back not the original £10.

DSL Shop wont refund you the initial deposit, instead call elonex direct, tell them you have cancelled the order with dslshop, and they will then refund the £10.

Call them on this number: 08712223456
you have to have it back.It is refundable.
