Thought these pics might help.

When you get eyesight like mine, every bit helps.

I'd only be interested in this for the usb port.. Would I just plug the ipod into it and it'd play through the stereo? I've got a Roadtrip but seem to get lots of static on it and the sound isn't half as good as if I play a cd through the stereo.
#9
This wouldn't play directly from an ipod I think, it would only play from an external hard-drive ie flash memory stick or sd card. To play from an ipod youd need to connect it to an aux/input or buy a headunit that's ipod ready or use an itrip.

For anyone who's looking for a good player as a base for components/amped sub then I'd highly recommend looking elsewhere. Also the SD slots tend to start finding cards unreadable. Good for your standard usage though I suppose.

Hi

Does anyone know if you can make the display orange - its says multi colour display

I have been looking for a stereo with usb and orange display for about 18 months this would be great

Must be orange though or a colour to match the dash of a BMW

I cant see anywhere on the ebuyer site where you can ask a question about a product

although i havent used it before - also is it easy to return things to this site if they are unsuitable?

cheers

Have one of these-Very Good Player-Well Worth the Money
There is an aux attachment at the rear which lets you plug in 2 rca plugs so that you can attach your Ipod through there. also have it set up so that when mobile rings it automatically goes to mute (Wire on unit allows you to do this)
SD Card and USB Slots have a Plastic Cover on them which protect them when not in use, this is seperate from the removable panel so does not come off wih the had unit
Screen can change from Red to Blue (NO ORANGE)
Speakers are ok but do not really enable the full sound of the unit be heard
I myself bought some better speakers but you may like these speakers
hope this helps someone

seen a guy the other day with a car stereo hooked upto a car battery and encased in an mdf box with the speakers fitted on the side anyone who knows anything about car stereos would this be hard to do and would it be able to be done with this 1 ?
#14
Ordered this through Quidco and got 0.1%. Is this tiny percentage correct?
Heat and rep added.

Yes it is correct - I got 6 pence!

There would be no problem doing this mate - with this or any standard fit car stereo, but like you said you would need a car battery to power the unit if you were to carry the box around.

Hi All,

I was so impressed by this unit that I bought a second one for the other car. Both work fine for radio & USB (I hardly bother to use CDs any more so haven't tested the CD player in either unit). For some reason I can't get my SD card to work in either player. I know the card is ok - I can stick it in my PC and listen to the MP3s on it no problem, but it won't play in either unit. It's unlikely that they're *both* bad, so what am I doing wrong? Are they fussy about the size of card, or the filesystem, or what? I have a 2Gb card with a FAT32 fs on it, with my MP3s in the root folder of the card (ie. not in any sub-folders).

Grateful for any tips - I really don't want to have to return these, and I don't have any other SD cards I can try.

Thanks in advance,

CC

I've got an Eltax in my Clio.

I wouldn't recomment buying it to anyone who was considering it. Not with the experiance I've had with it.

Fitting it was a doddle - Using it was a doddle. For the first month.

After that, the CD's started skipping - even on a flat un-bumpy road and eventually a CD got stuck inside. Now I've a useless CD player sat in my car, where the only use I have of it now is to play Radio One and to listen to USB sticks.

Regarding the size, I think it can only handle around the 512mb mark. I once used a 1GB USB stick and it had trouble playing all the MP3 tracks I put on it. So I would imagine the same goes for the Card slot.

The screen doesnt change colour on mine. Just stays a steady blue.

All in all - a rubbish bit of kit. Whilst the price might be good - the quality suffers.

You get what you pay for.

Anyone any ideas on how to retreive this CD that's stuck? ¬_¬

I put mine in my corsa last week. Impressed with the guy in Halfords who advised against me buying a £14 lead to convert. Showed me how to use wxisting wiring, chopping a couple and switching them. Needed an aerial adapter though.
I put it on during the dark this evening. Sitting in my driving seat was like sitting in front of a sunbed! Is there a way to turn the harsh blue light down?
The user manual is wriiten in fairly poor English which goes on and on about stuff that makes no sense.
So how do you change the screen colour and dim it down a bit?
My 2GB SD works fine.
