I'd love one of these but my car's radio piehole is bigger than a normal size one (mondeo). Do they do a tall version of these?

You could buy a facia panel to make it a standard size piehole:giggle: off ebay

You *might* get better sound for your money with a better brand. E.g. Pioneer.

a bit of a meander but does anyone know of something along these lines (i.e. with mp3/sd connectivity *and* with a DAB receiver, obviously I would expect it to be more expensive but i was hoping there might be a compromise solution out there?? (I know I want the earth).

Very tempting at the price, again I'd need a after market panel to make it fit my 306.

Anyone know if the USB on this could be used to charge a mobile/GPS etc?
#10
@bargain hunter - my guess is it is unlikely, chances are the USB port will only provide enough power to power one of those usb memory keys which require little power. Poundland recently had £1 cig lighter -> usb converters which would do the job if you could find one.

Thanks edi, Cd radio and speakers are just what I'm looking for.

Eltax make top-notch Hi-Fi separates and speakers, so If this set don't sound good I'll be mighty surprised.

Voted Hot!

Some DAB receivers are dropping in price. Halfords sell a JVC unit for under £150, but unfortunately it doesn't support the new AAC+ codec format. So it along with a lot of other DAB radio's will become obsolete as more radio stations adopt AAC+ format in the coming years. I've never seen a DAB Car receiver with a USB stick socket...these tend to be reserved for the cheap and tacky Chinese receivers.
The USB socket on this unit should be the USB standard of 500ma, which will charge USB powered phones and GPS systems.

This was on here a few weeks ago with speakers included for about £50. I found it to be a great bit of kit. I did have to switch a couple of the supplied power wires over (cut and join red with yellow I think and vikky verky) in order for the unit to remember settings. This was for a Corsa.
My only beef about it is that the display it is so darned bright at night. It must make the driver look as if they are in a movie! Can't see a way to dim it down. Worth the money though.

Ordered, Delivered, Installed.

Paid £43 and they delivered a black one (ordered a silver, but happier with the black).

To anyone that has one I have the following question.

When in SD Card mode I can press the band button to show either Artist/Album/Track, but after a few seconds it reverts to showing T1 0:13 display. Does anyone know how to lock it to show the Artist/Album/Track display instead as these details seem to be taken straight off the ID3 Tag where as other information is taken from the track name, and some of mine are named Track1.mp3

Cheers
