School starts this week ( where I am )

This is an unglamorous but pragmatic option for students everywhere
A nice cheap 2 Gb Vista non-refurb laptop
Just a plain jane notebook - check the reviews at REVOO (it does okay)
Will be fine for surfing and document creation and social networking etc
No idea about You tube HD movies ? Will be fine for all standard video formats
No free Windows 7 upgrade for this edition of Vista

No bluetooth or Webcam - get these as USB plugins for very few quid on Dealer Extreme
But the DVD Burner may be a real benefit

Free of charge delivery. Up to 7 days

The CPU is a celeron equiv. benchmark here
About the same as a Intel Celeron M 420 @ 1.60GHz

Battery life is average to low quoted and 2.5 hrs , prob closer to 2 hrs

Good find and it's decent enough specs as well if your stuck on a tight budget.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Plus there's 2% via Quidco as well from what I can see, which should knock off roughly £5.00p.

The budget end of the market is such a swine. For £50 more you'll get a nice Core2 machine to walk all over this and for another £100 you'll get one that wont fall apart. Suppose for those that really cant stretch that extra bit, is a decent enough deal. 14in screen seems really cheap tho and not like your gonna convince anyone its an ultra portable, so you'll look cheap in the eyes of your friends and collegues. Shame on you eMachines!

Heated anywho...

i had this notebook it worked ok but when the fan came on what a noise just like a plane tacking off. every about 5 minutes no wonder asda sold them for £200 mine went back to asda.
