Description
The eMachine E627 manages to squeeze a vast array of top-quality features into a laptop that Asda are happy to offer to you for a very low price! Performance will not be an issue with the E627; a 1.6GHz AMD Athlon processor combines brilliantly with the 2GB of DDR2 memory, to offer smooth and seamless computing, along with Windows 7 giving an easy to use and stable platform for working. A large 250GB hard drive ensures you will have enough room for all of your files and media, which you will have no problem downloading with the integrated WiFi, or fast Ethernet connection. The E627 also has some nice finishing touches for your convenience, such as a 5-in-1 card reader and a DVD Super-Multi drive mean you will be able to transfer files easily between computers, and a Kensington lock slot will help you to keep your laptop secure.

Well at that price you cannot expect too much.

Emachines do tend to be a budget brand (even though they are owned by Acer).

The CPU is pretty low spec.

Make sure the latop runs Windows 7 and not Vista (ie not old stock).

But as an alternative to a netbook it would probably be fine as long as you dont expect to do any computer intensive work, or play anything but the most basic games.

The same laptop was discussed 6 months ago when it was at Morrisons
