I went for the tVix 6400A. Its a bit more expensive (£300 give or take) but it is fantastic. has played everything I have chucked at it. H264 in full 1080p plays brilliant.

That is one sweet drive you have there!

The WD HD Player is probably best for folk with a tighter budget though but if I had the money, I would probably buy the one you have

(Im not allowed to buy anymore after the missus found out I spent £250 on a remote control for my tv!!) :-D

This thread has gone a bit mad... this is a 30 quid gadget, a toy perhaps - maybe to plug into a bedroom or kids tv to watch the odd DivX film from a USB stick, and you have all gone into fantasy mode at ten times the price!

The light potential sort of use had me thinking it was nearly as cheap as a DVD recorder, and OK for occasional use as I suggest. Unfortunately no-one seems to have seen one working in the flesh? :-(

Sorry, dont get me wrong. I think this is a very good deal (I did vote hot for it immediately). You are totally correct. Brilliant little device for the bedroom or to take on holiday. Average SD divx is about 700mb, whack 20+ of those onto a 16GB usb drive and your are laughing. I would like to hear from someone as to how it runs, does it play all the listed file types well.
