Nope. Ugg is a brand name. Ugg started the flat sheepskin boot trend, thus all imitations are "Ugg-style" boots. These are flat sheepskin boots by the brand Emu and are Ugg-style.

From MSE

Having done some digging, it appears that in Australia, the word Ugg is a generic term for sheepskin boots. So just because a pair of Ugg Boots isn’t made by “UGG® Australia” –the famous brand beloved by celebs such as Pammy Anderson – they aren’t necessarily fake.

Aussie folks have been making Ugg-style sheepskin boots for over a century

The price thing didnt need to be in there youre right, the point I meant was people order these thinking oh these are the overpriced UGG boots that celebrities wear, that is not the case.

These are 'on the bandwagon' ones and can be obtained cheap form many places, if your not buying the real thing then it doesnt matter who makes them, they arent the same.
#13
In my humble opinion Emu are a reputable brand, far superior to those you can get on the market stalls and cheap shops around the country, and really on a par with the construction of the "UGGAustralia" boots. Also sold in Russell and Bromley hardly a "cheap" outlet.

"EMU Australia was founded in 1994 after a long association with the surf lifestyle and apparel industries working with major international brands. The founder noticed an opportunity to develop a line of uniquely Australian footwear acquired the industry's best and most experienced people and facilities. Based in Geelong, on the south east coast of Australia (the wool capital of the world) EMU controls all processes from sourcing and tanning to manufacturing. All aimed at delivering the world's most comfortable boots"

Erm but I am afraid you are still talking nonsense - do you just make it up as you go along?

http://www.femail.com.au/cameron-diaz-emu-boots.htm

I thought this was interesting

"Having been in the business of combining classic Australian sheepskin boot traditions with the miracles of modern technology since 1994, Emu Australia has made its mark with a funky line of lively footwear like, yet quite unlike, the average ugg-style footwear that most of us are familiar with. Having worked to bring Ugg Australia products to the USA and the world, founder Andrew Raggatt knows the sheepskin footwear industry inside out. Emu Australia is the result of his vision to improve the general stylistic interpretation of ugg-style footwear, to make them more a lifestyle choice than trendy closet-fillers. Get your hot little hands on (and better your foot in) one of Emu Australia's products, and we think you'll agree he's succeeded.

Sibling rivalry

In a sense, Emu Australia is the corporate sibling of the more famous Ugg Australia, since the company upon which Emu Australia was founded, the Jacksons Company of Geelong (the famous wool capital of Australia) once owned the Ugg brand. Raggatt purchased Jacksons and used it to launch Emu Australia, to foster his new reinterpretation of sheepskin footwear. He also set up a secondary headquarters in California, where much of American fashion gets it start. The result was a sophisticated line of boots, slippers, shoes, thongs (what we Americans call flip-flops) and sturdy sport sandals, some padded with soft, warm fleece, some not. The one thing that all Emu Australia products have in common is that they're made of leather. Of course, the stylishness and quality construction comes standard, in large part because Emu Australia controls every aspect of their manufacture, from start to finish. The company has its own wool resources (i.e., sheep), leather tanneries, factories, and distribution facilities, which means that Emu Australia don't have to deal with any middlemen -- a factor that not only lowers the prices of its uggs and other products, but also lets the company get their footwear on the shelves faster."

I think they look silly
#16
phatboy, we are going nowhere here, you justify your deal by searching the depths of the internet for a celebrity wearing boots made by EMU, these are not even the same boots you have posted?!?!?!?!

My point (that I still stick to) is these are NOT the same boots that the whole UGG craze started over. The company that make the boots that the celebrities generally went for is UGG-Australia not EMU.

I am noy denying they are well made or they are of good quality they are not however the same boot.
#17
WHY? Please, why? these look terrible and it's not winter, lol fashion victims!

Wrong again, on so many levels. I am not justifying any deal. The deal is what it is and needs no justification. However your persistance in posting wrong information cannot go uncorrected.

My link was to half price Emu Ugg boots including the very ones said celebrity is wearing - I think they are called Bronte Hip see here - http://www.blackleaf.com/emu/emu-hip-boots-chestnut/blfp1738

Oh and all it took was a quick google check.

I dont think I ever claimed that they were anything other than they are. The is the first time you have mentioned the "Ugg Craze" so its again a false statement to claim that this is your sole point.

If you dont approve of the deal thats fine - but please keep your posts factual, its more helpful to others reading the forum.

good price for the emu boots, not interested myself but voted hot as this is a good price

It's all about the label. No self respecting fashionista would be seen an anything but official UGG Australia boots. Call them whatever you want, but the ones that they all want are the UGG Australia ones that sell for about £140 upwards in most designer retailers.

unless you can post links to these emu boots at a cheaper price, this is classed as thread spoiling, we all know the difference between each boot, this thread is for the emu

how can they be more in demand the UGG Australia boots?, is that why they can be bought for as little as £30?

Phatboy, I am not commenting again, good deal (I voted hot) but I was just warning people rushing to buy them for OH's that these are not the brand that started the UGG craze.

I've started a massive debate and i love it!

Phatbhoy, if you look below, there boots are $200, therefore they are between £90-£120 and are Ugg Australia boots

http://www.uggaustralia.com/ProductDetails.aspx?gID=w&categoryID=283&productID=5119&model=Knightsbridge

And bargain monkey no way are they in more demand than the ugg australia boots.

Search for EMU (brand) and Women's Footwear.
Looks like the Stingers have sold out though. Only the cheaper Bronte ones left.

Look! Cameron Diaz is happy to wear 'fake' Uggs :p
