Manufacturer's Description

Whether you play for personal enjoyment – knowing that you’re learning to play one of the most exciting of musical instruments, or for relaxation, or recreation, or are fired up with the inspiration to get a band together,
get some gigs in pubs and clubs… whatever; everyone famous started just the same way!

We invited British Guitar Guru, Trev Wilkinson, the renowned designer behind Fret-King® and Vintage® guitars, and the creator of many now-standard guitar innovations, to design in to the new Encore® Blaster Series the subtle details, nuances and finesse which are the hallmarks of a true player’s guitar.

The tonewoods, hardware, pickups, comfort, balance, playability and tone set Encore® guitars apart, giving them a credibility which will surprise even the most experienced player, and inspire the ‘first time’ player to play, play now – and carry on playing! Encore Blaster Series guitars feature specially created vintage-voiced pickups to produce astonishingly accurate and authentic tone.

Hardware too is fundamental to tone and performance. The Encore Blaster Series features custom-designed hardware and vibrato bridges which significantly enhance the superb tone and playability of these guitars.

As Trev observed when he’d finished the Encore Blaster Series project, “It’s actually easy to make a great guitar for ‘telephone number’ prices, but to make the best ‘first guitar’ in the world for new guitarists on a tight budget, and put my name on it… that was a real challenge.”

“I’m knocked out that we can now get such incredible value guitars into the hands of new guitarists.”
“I believe Encore is ‘the best first guitar’ in the world.”

I wouldn't expect this guitar to be great, you wouldn't gig with it and I imagine it won't be set up well. That said, all of the accessories make up for it in the price. It wouldn't be a bad first guitar for someone who just wants to learn. You'd get the benefit of a better guitar once you have learnt to play. The amp will be loud enough for rehearsals, but again it won't be great. Heat added for a first guitar.
I have decided to take up the guitar and like you said, would be a good first guitar. When I have the basics and am getting good at it I will probably upgrade to a better one.

I started with an Encore and found it harder to play than a better guitar. Buy a Yamaha Pacifica.

Ha Ha lol. Nah. 360 FTW. Got bored with Guitar Hero/Rock Band. Only started on them because I didn't have the time of money to learn real guitar. Now I do so I can finally start.
The reviews are very good for this package, the latest being a couple of weeks ago.
i wouldn't purchase this as a first guitar honestly they are really bad to play. Start with a squire strat, well worth the extra few quid for a beginner!
+ 1 Yamaha pacifica + Roland mircocube.

Cost more, but upgrade at your leisure and enjoy the feel and sound from day one. Also both will hold their value so you can sell if you upgrade or realise the guitar is not something you have the time or inclination to do.
I have 6-7 years experience as a guitarist and would advise all new guitarists to avoid Encore guitars. Several people I know made this mistake; do some research if you are serious about learning. Personally I would recommend PRS SE guitars for a beginner, but these start at £299.99. Other good cheaper brands are Spear, Yamaha and Schecter.
Basically I have limited funds and most of what I earn goes towards my car (Expensive Things). So I have little left. This was a perfect price to get a bit of experience in, and if it doesn't stick, its only £100 as opposed to spending several hundred on a slightly better one.
There are some great cheap guitars out there; absolutely no need to spend a lot. Check out the Harrier strat and tele style offerings on ebay - £65 for a similar package. I bought a couple of their guitars recently for projects and after gutting the tele and installing new pickups and hardware, it gets more play time than some of my other guitars which cost 10X more :D but the point being, the stock guitar was still as good as all these similar offerings.
