decent price
but criminally small capacity batteries

is this worth it, just for the converters alone. the batteries would do for my remotes. but im looking for some converters?

There are of course as clearly stated Ni-Cd rechargeable batteries, ie the ancient technology, long since replaced by Ni-MH.

I would expect ONLY someone with an old device that requires Ni-Cd rechargeables (eg an old cordless telephone) to want to buy these.

The headline is misleading though in that there are no C or D batteries included, just cases to enable the AA/AAA sizes to fit within a larger space (but deliver a lot less capacity than a full C or D cell).

It's not even clear if the charger is suitable/will adequately charge NiMH batteries, if not, this is all but useless. Battery "convertors" can be bought elsewhere, nothing special or unusual about them, just they don't make very good substitutes for real C & D size rechargeables.

Even without looking at other retailers, there are far better chargers and batteries to buy on this site!

They are freely available, although you will get nothing like the full performance of proper rechargeables of the right size:

etc.

cheers for the advice, i think i will give these a miss then. anybody know any good deals on good performance rechargeable C batteries. i see alot of deals on here for AA/AAA, but very few for other batteries.

How has this made it onto the front page? This is a woeful product

I bought something like this about a year ago in a £1 shop! The converters are actually very useful when you need a C or D cell battery in an emergency. The supplied batteries OK in low drain devices such as remote controls/MP3 player/wall clock etc where it's not worth 'wasting' 2500 mAh batteries.

Indeed, and apart from the low capacity, Ni-Cd cells also have the problem of being highly toxic. The cannot go in the bin (ordinary batteries shouldn't either, but at least they are not as toxic), and I think it is even illegal to sell form within the EU for quite a while.

I would expect ONLY someone with an old device that requires Ni-Cd rechargeables (eg an old cordless telephone) to want to buy these.
Indeed, some chargers only work with Ni-Cd cells, and so devices with built in chargers may need them. Still cold.
