Hmm I wonder if an offer like this will ever come back. I dont think any battery deal will ever be as good as the one Staples had. I just happened to be shopping there on the day of the deal (on Regent St, Manchester), and had it not been a lady who came in just to buy them, I would never had noticed the deal.

I ended up buying 10-15 packs. The best deal was the 8 Duracell Ultra Power for £1!!!!!!! I bought nearly all of them but was polite enough to let the lady buy hers first :)

AAA alkalines are 16p each - these are 28p. Does anyone think these are SO much better than ordinary alkalines that it's worth rushing out to get them? And having to give money to Argos to boot.

Not Energisers - Alkalines. They are 6 for £1 in Poundland any day of the week. I use them all the time and they are perfectly adequate. Once someone can give me any evidence that Duracells or Energisers are any better then I might start considering spending 28p each on them. So far, I've just heard people that think it's OBVIOUS that Duracell and Energisers are better because their adverts say so.

"Extra Long Life" are Alkalines...? In my experience, names like that are reserved for Zinc Carbon wastes of time.

If that's the case then I'm willing to accept that gettng Energiser Ultimate Lithium for anything less than 37p each is worth doing.
