Price has gone up to £2.69

Great price but should be £2.69 and NOT compatibale with WINDOWS 7 so if you have WINDOWS 7 don't buy this......oO

Can't see how this can be anything other than original Energiser batteries as the pic shows, I assume, a sealed package.

However, can't see this as being anything other than novelty value, it's going to be painfully slow and I prefer to use my USB ports for something more useful

I have one of these not sure why you say not compatable as all it does is charge your batteries. I can confirm it still works on a windows 7 32bit system . It is actually quite a handy charger.
I think it originally stated it came with a battery charge display program but that wasn't ever given out . I even contacted company direct .
It does charge quite quickly never timed it as i usually just leave it going as i do something else on computer.
I use it to charge my xbox controller batteries. it was cheaper than a play and charge kit.
This is not bad a deal

Great little USB Charger, but only suggest you use it with a USB Main/car adaptor .... if you plug it in your laptop/pc, the software that is downloaded has malware (backdoor trojan) embedded ... which probably explains why this product has been withdrawn by Energiser and is cheap to buy !

Seems like all the issues are to do with the charge monitoring software you could download which contained a virus - hence the product being withdrawn and them being sold off cheap.

But the charger will still work just as well without the software, just taking the charge off usb.

Ermm... Can't we just charge the batt using normal batt charger im sure most of us already have? :)
#15
I didn't think eBay deals were allowed . . .
#16
Could you not plug this in a mains USB converters? I have one from the kindle, iPad and desire.

I got it at £1.99. I will give that a try
#17
I bought one of these for £1.98 a couple of months ago for my headset, if it comes sealed, it comes with two AAA Energizer batteries .. http://****.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250763158883#ht_1515wt_1199

Works well.. But the prices have gone up since then by the looks of it o_o

£ land do usb battery chargers for £1

does say on the box takes 10 hours to charge, I expect this is no better.

Hot from me,

http://www.energizer.com/usbcharger/language/english/download.aspx

Suggests "Fast – Charge 2 AAA 900 mAh batteries in 2 hours!"

Instruction PDF says - 2500 AA - 5hr
and confirms the 2 hour 900mah rating

For comparison here are the timings on my CAMLink charger (which was a play deal for £5 with two 2700 mah aa):

AA - 2500mah - 14.5 hours
Doesn't list 900mah AAA but lists 800 as 9 hours and 1000 as 11 so presumably 10 hours
Read the usb software announcement PDF for details on the virus.

You can get a usb battery charge for £1 at poundland but is it faster? Also this has a cover to stop the batteries falling out.

Good spot, especially at that price.
#21
Dont buy this is you want to monitor the charge the orignal software had bugs or a virus or something so they pulled it and never replaced the software, Still charges but no software uses.

** Warning **
Some USB chargers contain trojan viruses when plugged into your computer please be weary of inexpensive deals like this.

** Warning **** Warning **** Warning **** Warning **

Thanks for the interest, I have temporarily closed this listing as I am only a one man company & want to get on top of posting out all the chargers that sold this evening as a result of referrals from this website before I sell any more in order to maintain a good service to my customers (all purchased will be posted tomorrow - Tues). For anyone who may still be interested I will probably re-list my remaining stock (at the same price) on Weds morning.

Hmmm received mine today from the previous posted deal and after plugging it into my pc,a mains usb adaptor and an xbox 360 it starts off slowly flashing green to indicate its charging then changes to a rapidly flashing green light which according to the instructions means that bad batteries have been inserted. Tried another set of nimh's in and it's still doing the same so i must have gotten a duff charger but the batteries charge ok in my other one so it's still not too bad. Oh well.

same thing with me, slow flash then rapid flashing. Rapid flashing seems to have stopped after using 1 of the batteries.

Cheers jquach i'll give it another go when i get home.
#27
mine just flashes and doesn't charge the batteries, it was plugged in all night too!!

received mine today and works fine on win7 64bit. I didn't make use of the software since it was said to be malicious.
btw. the deal is still on...
#29
Aye but it has gone up to £2.99 (ebay item number - 350447901778),

Cable can be stored inside the unit (feels a little short at first but if you push a bit it will go in).

Windows 7 pro 64 bit whinges about the lack of driver (pointing you to the now defunct energizer usbcharger site) but still charges fine. Also if you're only charging one battery then use the left hand bay (labelled as 1)

Can confirm this comes with 2xAAA Energizer batteries (900 mAh).

Timings from the card are:

AA

1300 mAh - 2.8hr
2000 mAh - 4.4hr
2500 mAh - 5.5hr

AAA

850 mAh - 1.9hr
1000 mAh - 2.2hr

Seems to work fine and reconfirms my suspicions about a defective battery
