Cant get anywhere? Except Argos instore? plus other places no doubt.

I guess people are voting cold due to all the free bulbs over the last year plus the ones for pennies in supermarkets mean they have bulbs to last a lifetime.

Either the taxes you pay are subsidising these through some government energy saving scheme or your hard earned money that you pay your energy bills with to the profiteering energy companies are subsidising the bulbs so they don't get regulated by the government for screwing us consumers over! :whistling:

Sort of right, the power companies have to meet their CERT targets (reducing carbon etc) and HAVE to be SEEN to be doing their bit. Sure it costs them a small fortune in heating grants such as free/ subsidised cavity wall insulation and boilers to replace old inefficient ones BUT the alternative is a government fine based on a percentage of their TURNOVER  this would run into billions so losing the odd million or so here and there on this scheme is no biggie for them (plus they just screw us with extortionate fuel costs even though the wholesale price has plummeted over the last few months!! :?).

For anyone who can't sleep, this explains in more detail:
http://www.hvnplus.co.uk/files/cert.pdf

Basically, like I said, they get fined if they dont comply, few benefit and most inc me, will lose out as the Power companies pass the costs on to us via higher charges... as usual with this poxy government, its a waste of time and money but hey, at least the idiots will be gone by this time next year!!
