Can't find it on the website, but probably are somewhere, bought these in store....

Tesco are doing a buy-one-get-one-free on their energy saving light bulbs.
Included in this offer is a replacement for the halogen GU10's that are so ubiquitous these days.
It is a 7W (35W equivalent) CFL bulb, GE branded I think.
It kicks out a not-unreasonable amount of light, certainly not the same as a 50W halogen, but then it doesn't claim to be. Also won't be the same quality as say Megaman's, but at £2.50 each, certainly cheap and good enough for our hall.
About time the price of these came down.

Cant see them :?, @£1! which part of tesco website - groceries or direct

although i have already stocked up on the £5 for 2 ones as we have 5 light fitting in the kitchen

On the Tesco site on the top banner click house+pet----home essentials-----light bulbs------energy saving light bulbs. They are all 2 for a pound. hope that helps :-D

The one you're talking about are standard BC or ES bulbs... the post was about GU10 halogen replacements,,, far more expensive.

Based on my experience, then probably you will. That said, it's not really that bad. The light is more of a flood-effect than a spotlight effect so comparison if slightly more difficult than you might expect, and it's a slightly whiter light than the halogens.
