Good price, Hope there's some left tomorrow.

very good price, i have bought one in the past for about 20 which comes with 2 wireless sockets, very handy!

i got my ps3 and wii plugged into them, just use the remote to switch them off completely so they dont suck any power at all not even the standby power. I read somewhere that the ps3 sucks enough power to run a fridge.

heat added.

Do I bother?? Yeah alright...

That is what the TV remote is for. However I am too fat to reach behind my 50" corner standing TV / stand etc and turn off my TV/DVD/Wii etc at the wall, sorry grandad. this country eh?!

Got wii fit :lazy:

Good deal for someone who has sockets behind furniture, might pay for themselves in a few years :w00t:

aren't they constantly drawing power waiting for you to point the remote at it to turn it back on?

I have several of these because I don't use the large ceiling rose light in my lounge, instead I use three energy saving table lamps, however each consumes 0.7W all the time. Most TVs consume just slightly more power in standby than these devices, so when you factor in the saving of around 0.2W you are hardly saving much and when the TV is on you are still using that 0.7W. Additionally, as we approach digital switch-over some manufacturers are sending out updates for their digital TV products because if they don't they might not work afterwards. Older consumer electronics rarely take in to account power saving in standby, but new devices do:

Also remember however that a Sky box only saves a few Watts going in to standby, it only turns off the video outputs, it keeps receiving even in 'standby'. Although I understand they are working to improve this, you can shop around to save money and the environment.
