Quote for 'Places for People Energy' through the above link:

Electricity: 17p/day standing charge, 10.20p/kWh - Total for year £327.03 (EDF currently charge £441.39)
Gas: 15.90p/day standing charge, 2.55p/kWh - Total for year 334.79 (EDF currently charge £544.22)

So based on the above, if its all above board when I go through the order process, I'll be saving just over £300, or around 32%.Prices are fixed for 18 months, £30 exit fee (per fuel type) if you cancel beforehand.

For comparison the recent MSE BG switch rates were
Gas 2.64 p per kWh, 18.9p per day
Elec 8.14 per kWh, 18.9p per day
So while the gas is a little bit cheaper, the electricity prices are very high.
Sorry, cold from me.

But this isn't available anymore. Brilliant if you got it when it was on, but at the moment I think the NHS collective is the best out there?

For everyone just voting cold, please do a quote first - you may be pleasantly surprised.

The rates on my new tariff after switching are as follows:

Gas: Unit Rate - 2.469p per kWh, Standing Charge - 21.90p per day, Tariff Comparison Rate (TCR) - 2.99p per kWh

Electricity - Unit Rate - 11.351p per kWh, Standing Charge - 16.42p per day, Tariff Comparison Rate (TCR) - 12.80p per kWh

I also receive a discount for having dual fuel and also paperless billing.
[quote=LesD]If you are on a current fixed price contract, these savings will be misleading.
They assume you revert to the supplier's standard tariff when the current contract term ends.
Sure, other deals will be better than that, but they may not be better than the current contract for the rest of its term.[/quote
+1
Its as per all to confuse us and at the end of the day ALL WE NEED is the cost of the KWH plus discounts but that would see us all with the same cheapest provider and thats not what they want now is it

Scottish Power? Stay as far away from this company as possible. I'm still waiting for my £430 balance back 8 months after moving from them. Worst company I have ever dealt with.

just remember to look at the TCs for your current provider. if you had a long fixed rate you may be in a contract with an average £20-30 "leaving penalty" per fuel.
every time we have swapped energy companies it's been a nightmare!
Now How many she s have a football oO
And for the the people who are never happy I posted all conditions as I mentioned I would try to
Get the impression some people are so very negative and rather moan and grump at people trying to help, I think it was explained in comments if read
Will I bother again ! Lol

Still a good deal .
Give her a chance shes just said she's new at this!

Got my £80 Love2shop voucher after a month or so. I had to chase Energyhelpline for my £15 cashback, but they said they'd coincidentally paid it on the same day I chased them via email!

Now switching again via MSE The 10 DAY Big Winter Switch Event.
I'd rather stick hot pins in my eyes than use Scottish Power again. Easy to switch to but try moving away from them. They have £430 of mine since I switched in November despite constant tweets, emails and phone calls.

If you need any more convincing read these:

poor customer service, they never give out vouchers even u chase them up, everytime new person who doesnt know if theres any promotion running.. very annoying scottish power.. finding better deal to move
booh evil energy suppliers....
cburns
Easy make this and more.... by switching from the big six :(

Not necessarily; Energyhelpline said the cheapest provider was First Utility with £171. Scottish Power would save £69, but also give the vouchers. And, let's face it, First don't have the best rep for customer service... Also, many of the non-big six were charging cancellation fees for leaving mid-contract.

It should really be called a Love2hop Voucher, in your case. :)

Scottish Power still don't operate a 'two direct debit facility', so if you overpay, the only way they refund you is by a cheque in the post, rather than automatically back to the account where direct debits were taken from. That's reason enough not to use them, they sit on millions in unclaimed cheques. Ofgem is such a waste of space, they should force Scottish power to repay any held amounts, into any customers they have bank details for.

I don't intend to be with them for that long ;)

All energy companies, the major ones at least, are just as bad as each other. I'm waiting for a final bill from npower from June of last year and can't seem to get it produced for love nor money, but I'm not going to miss out on the opportunity of £94 :)
