Was in the Watford store and noticed these - they are the huge catering size packs and weigh a ton.

Considering that the usual jars cost aroung £2 for 400g, that would equate this deal at 20p a jar!

If you like your curry hotter than this, just add crushed chilli flakes.

Probably!

Nah not really, few other fools do it as well, I vote them all cold. No need for it, and it messes up my RSS feed :P

Korma? its barely even a curry! Chip shop curry is better.

Not a bad deal like

voted decisively....mild :P

Problem with these sauces is they have to be used up in a couple of days after opening, so unless you either have a large family or are cooking to freeze some contents then a 2kg jar would be totally overkill.

Stupid comment really, what should a curry be? Does it have to be hot for you to define a curry? Are you the type of person that orders vindaloo cooked with loads of chilli because you think that heat makes a curry? Korma as a type of curry uses coconut, at least the UK varient does, and is a mild yoghurt based curry the same as tikka masala. A curry is a gravy/sauce made up of differing spices, and differing heats.

You could buy 2 jars, that should be just enough to embalm that gross man

Cook a larger amount and freeze the rest.

I usually buy the Thai curry from L.G. and they are fantastic taste.

I use a number of these recipies and they are lovely. It does put jars to shame and does not really take that long.

err not quite. Thread title should be clear and consise. Product name, price, store. Why do you feel the need to stick random catchphrases or comments in there?

Lighten up mate ffs.

Looks like the humour police are on duty yet again.

And please avoid using bold type, it looks so condescending doesn't it? Or was that the desired effect I wonder?

Jheeze... some people...

Perhaps they want to be oh so mod.
#20
so is it a ton or 2kg? ;-)
#21
For goodness sake, its not that hard, a lot more satisfying and produces much tastier results to cook a curry from scratch. If you must use a ready made paste, I'd steer clear of a celebrity-endorsed one.

Good price for Lloyd Grossman Korma sauce, but he has changed the recipe and is now revolting, they used to be yummy.
#23
I don't think Lloyd sits at home tinkering with his recipes.
Call me a cynic, but I think it works like this: Rubbish food producer: 'Here's some cash.' Soulless greedy celebrity: 'Here's my name and photo. Go flog some rubbish food with it.'

Doesn't look that great really, very meat orientated. Doesn't even have any bean curries on there.
#25
Heat added , very good price .
I believe it must be vibrone's 'off games week'

Yes, when it comes to you, that was the desired effect.

Hot deal. Only downside is the 'once open use within X days' thing. Anyone know how many days exactly?

Oh and for the record, I like this sauce. However, I liked it much better before it changed colour. It used to be a really bright colour and was delicious, then it became a bland-looking colour and had "NEW formula" on the label. :(
#28
When they use the word formula rather then recipe it is slightly worrying!

Must admit that I made some of this the other day and it is a bit sweeter than the previous blend.

But nevertheless, still good after adding in a few embellishments like Turmeric, Cumin and Chili flakes.

Ainsley might act like a complete freak on his TV programs, but most of Ainsley branded products are fairly priced and pretty damn good.

Most of them are meat free too

OK i'll take your word for it. Just I'd seen numerous parts of his range in Home Bargains recently. Yes, most of them are of high quality as you say.. just the powdered soups let him down! ;-)
