Don't know if this will work for everyone and is not exactly a deal in the common use of the phrase but anyway i'll start from the beginning. I first ordered talk talk about a month ago and got the standard deal at the time...that is 16.99 a month for line rental and standard phone package with wireless broadband.
Then i heard about the carphone warehouse offer of 10.50 for the first 12 months then it rises to 16.99 (for the remainder of the 18 month contract). As i had only ordered a week before that i phoned up and threatened to cancel if i didn't get the same offer which they kindly said i could. Yesterday i got my first bill which tried to charge me for the original 16.99 offer. So, i phoned up to complain and again threatened to leave arguing that i didn't get the deal that i had signed up to...here is the important part because i didn't actually mention which deal.
The girl i was talking to said to hold on untill she talks to her manager. I patiently waited and on her return she said that i will be refunded the difference and that i will only have to pay 10.50 for the rest of my contract!!! At that point i asked to clarify if that included line rental and billing charges and she said yes, and again as i couldn;t actually believe my ears asked her if all i will be charged for the entire 18 month contract is 10.50 (including a wireless router) and again she said yes at which point i took her name and asked to have that in writting on my account incase there are any future problems and quickly got off the phone...incase she changed her mind ...lol.
I'm assuming there was a special special deal being done around the time that they mistakingly thought i had signed up to and gave it to me now.
Hopefully some of you guys out there may be able to wiggle a way of arguing a similar case and getting the same deal.
