EON: TV Powerdown (Turns off extra equipment when TV is off) £3.00 inc Delivery
EON are selling the TV Powerdown socket for £3.00 including delivery again!
I've had one for a while, and it's fine - it turns off any additional home entertainment devices when you turn your TV off (works via your TV remote control)
Well worth getting for £3.00 including delivery IMHO!
Don't forget to add the free ShowerSave, whilst you're there!

I have an 6-way socket plugged into it, so with one push of the TV remote (at the sensor) the computer, router, Virgin box, printer, monitor all go off easily, after a proper computer shut down of course.
Same for the TV / DVD / set top box
Just as a matter of interest, how much does a TV on standby cost to run all night, and a computer etc ... it's probably just micro-pennies or maybe more.

Pretty sure a TV on standby will still use around 2/3 watts of electricity, converting that into £'s depends of course on your tariff.

Some are as low as one watt now, less than two quid a year.

Agree, it gotta be just as easy and probably even safer if the switch is physically switched off.
Unfortunately things are not black and white. Depending on your TV and your other devices, this may very well be worth it, or may not be. Personally I prefer the master/slave device they sell as a "PC power saver".
So what we need is another device to turn this power saving device off, rather than leaving it in standby ;)

Then we'll need another to switch that on standby...vicious circle.
