See the post below for an image taken from todays paper that you will be able to take into Comet and get them to price match.

Yes this is a pricematch but some people have found it hard to get stock from ASDA, Comet might be closer!

Also a top tip: If you buy this through Quidco, then go to Comet and pay full price for it. Then once you have paid full price, produce the image below and get them to price match you should get Quidco to track at £2.10 also!

Click Here to open the image for printing.

Edit: I left as bit of text on there and the folder page at the bottom so comet can tell its from a news paper (todays Metro)

Technically it has to be in stock for you to get it price matched there though... and they only do price matches within 10 miles so that may limit a lot of people.
#3
Do you know if you can you get cheap compatibles for this?

If yes = cracking deal

Still a great find OP - Heat and Rep added

D:thumbsup:

Technically yes... but in my experience with newspaper adds they dont bother checking for "the big companies".

You can get cheap compatibles for this, but, as we found out they vary as to whether they work for long or at all before giving an error message.

I'm not sure but it seems like epson are combating the use of compatibles with firmware updates maybe.

Full set of epson originals for this are around £21.

I paid over £40 for this - not a bad printer and a cracking deal for that price. I use non epson carts all the time and they are dead cheap, though they do tend to clog quite a lot if you dont use them often.

I have an Epson R265 and that prints CD's. Going to go for this one though to digitise some old photos. Was going to get it from ASDA but there is a Comet closer to me and it works out cheaper! Rep to you gary_rip

Iffy at £60 but for £25 (or £21.49) it would get a great review!

inc postage?

I think postage is £2.95 whatever the size of order. They do blank Dvds and CDs as well so might be worth adding them to your order. They have a special offer on at the mo. where you can have 25 sheets of Photo paper and a pad of notes paper for free.

Do you know of any all-in-one printer that has a paper tray at the bottom and is compatible with CISS?

Every printer i've had that feed's paper from the top tends to always end up wonky, only one that never did was a canon that took paper in from a tray in its bottom.

thanks for the recommendation, but far to expensive a printer for occasional use

They do Price match but 10% aswell only works when the difference is less than half of the normal price so as they are selling it at £59.99 and the price match is £25 it is £35 difference.

If they were selling this at £50 then 10% would work

Great deal still :-D

Since when is this the case?

Hi gary - where does it mention the 10% on their site please?

When you first posted this I was under the impression that it was PC World and Currys that offer the 110%.
Comet's price match says:
If you purchase a product from a Comet store and find the identical product at a lower price in another retailer within 10 miles of the store, we will we match that in-store price. Simply let us know within 14 days of your purchase.
For orders placed online or by telephone, we will match an in-store price. The retailer's store must be within 10 miles of your local Comet store.

Comet price is now £29.99 - will this still work?

I got this printer yesterday price matched at Comet for £25. No +10% for me. When I inquired, they said that they stopped it about four weeks ago.:?

What's the point in price matching to the same price as the competitor??? I might as well have gone to Asda to get it!.

"Why didn't you?" I hear you ask. Well, the prospect of an additional 10% discount was more inviting.:-D
#28
i did go to comet as well y'day but the price was 29.99 and they were not offering 10%. So I guess the thread title needs to change to £25 as it stands "NOW".

btw if any in London are trying to get a price match with ASDA, forget it - none in stock instore (in ASDA) so the price match wouldn't work.

but otherwise question to current owners - what do you think of this printer? came across some bad reviews so want to get a practical opinion here before i blow £29.99.
