Good to see a printer with cheap carts available for a change! Heat added...

A word of caution cartridge inks usually have 'open by' dates of about a year. If you don't do loads of printing then you may end up with catridges that are no use.
#6
Why would you want 5 of each colour cartridge, the printer will die long before they're used !!
#7
Hot. Better than those Lexmark PsOS.
I own an Epson Stylus Photo and it beats the stuffing out of my old BJC3000 on cost and quality.
#8
i am not sure what cartigate this model used, but i own an EPSON DX3800 and i am able to buy ink from scan for £1.14, so its worth to take some time and check that out

Better pic below:

Voted hot although buying 20 carts is overkill!!! :p

My girlfriend has this printer, very good quality prints, pretty quick and very quiet compared to older versions/other brands.

Great price too.

Also some useful links for cartridges:

http://www.scan.co.uk/search/search.asp?criteria=d78

http://www.choicestationery.co.uk/Printer3.asp?Printer=5386&Type=NONE&Manufacturer=18

Not sure which will work out cheaper with P&P. Possibly choices with code.
#12
Choice has free delivery anyway... As for Scan...

inks for this on ukdvdr here

http://www.ukdvdr.co.uk/shop/D78-D120-DX4000-DX4050-DX5000-DX5050-DX6000-DX6050-DX7000F-DX7400-DX8400-DX7450-DX8450-c-364.html

one set of the cheaper ones (same brand as the ones I use in my R200 epson) is £5.49. Delivery isn't particularly cheap, around £4 I think so I always buy a few sets. If you don't mind paying a little extra the Inkrite carts are a better quality. I think tha they are £2.20is each.
#14
is it worth getting official inks or non-branded ones?

Never had a problem with non branded carts in my R240. They may not last as long, but are so much cheaper it warrants it!!

Tryed this voucher on different cartridges doesnt seem to work is it only for the ones stated in post?

There are loads of cheap prinetrs like this around see this one at ARGOS. for £25. Why buy ink just buy a new printer!!

bought this printer this week as a short term replacment for my dead laser printer i paid £39.99 from pcworld and ink is £6.99as for getting multiple packs of in i would almost killed the black after 180 page doc i used up 70% the black ink so get plenty cartridges as they will be used and are cheap enough.
#19
For one simple reason - COST OF CARTRIDGES - £14.99 for one Canon Cartridge... You think that's fair? That's six times more expensive than Epson's Cartridges.... Did you even read the rest of the posts?
#20
canon are good but expensive to run

On a like for like basis, and ignoring print costs, which is the better printer in terms of print quality and scaning capabilities?
Thanks
#22
I would say epson... I've owned 4 Epson printers, starting from the Epson Stylus Color 2, up to the 660 series and the DX3500.

I'd have to give my vote to the Canon for quality and features (card reader screen etc), however, if you factor in the cartridge cost then the Epson is definitely better VFM.

I bought one of the cheap canons last week and its a brilliant scanner copier and printer,But iv'e reserved the epson one to pick up tomorrow because of the cartridges.
