Please note that the £37.99 price does not include postage, which would bring it up to £44.09 delivered.

Perhaps a mod can update this.

It is a good deal.... but these are only £49.99 in Comet (and maybe Currys too). Actually it is the DX5000 I think in Comet but they are the same thing. For the extra £6, if you have a Comet locally, I may been tempted to buy one there as it's a lot easier to return if there are problems.... plus you don't have to wait in for delivery. I was looking at this model but ended up getting the DX6000.

As for ink cartidges, the 'proper' Epson cartirdges only have 5.5ml in the colours! JetTec compatible colours claim to last up to 90% more than the Epsons. Looking on Ebay a lot of sellers don't tell you the quantity of ink in the cartridges... it may be worth checking. I think there must be about 17ml in the JetTec ones - plus they are 30% more efficient than Epson ones anyway.

I was tempted to go for 2 JetTec multipacks or the 9 pack available here for £23.66 delivered (as they have £10 with Google checkout).

If anyone knows any better brands I'd like to know. These are true pigments not dyes (dyes fade in sunlilght) and are guaranteed not to harm your printer.

Alternatively you could buy 1 pack of originals and a black (for example) for a shade over £20 delivered.

Searcher2: can you expand on JetTec cartridges being "30% more efficient than Epson ones" please.
Do they put less ink on the paper?
Thanks.

Flipd. There's lots of info on the website

I think basically it uses all the ink in the cartidge by not using sponges. Perhaps I shouldn't have used the word 'efficient'. They claim you get up to 30% more prints out of them - or 90% with the colours (but the colours are higher % because there is more ink in them than the Epsons). I am not a ProJet employee.... I just spent 3 hours last night trying to work out the best compromise between quality and price. I don't know if these are the answer or not....but are mentioned on photography sites quite a bit.

I can't work out if this is humour or not. The printer takes 4 cartridges. If it is just a case of not following the link then for your delectation...

"Pack contains 9 compatible cartridges: T0711 Blackx3 and T0712/ T0713/ T0714. Cyan, Magenta, Yellow x2 of each."

I've had 2 epsons and one canon, whenever i've used compat ink cartridges (like inkrite) they always die on me, first lines start appearing on my printouts and then the head just blocks.
not sure why I am so unlucky, granted they were sort of old models... thats what puts me off buying these, I'm tempted to get a HP as the ink cartridges have built in heads, I dont do much printing, maybe once a week, i've got a black and white laser for my main printing needs.
Not sure what to do...

Any Advice? :)

Looks good... though it doesn't say how much ink is in the coloured cartridges. If there is 3 times as much in the JetTec ones then maybe the JetTec are still a good buy.
