Saw this today as I went into Tesco near Rugby.
cant argue with 50% off, there was another simular for £29 without the LCD display and card slot. so either way, cant go wrong with Epson.

don't forget QUIDCO!!!

scanner wont operate without ink

That is true. Very annoyying. And i thought with individual inks, you only have to replace what you need as opposed to the old combined colors. Mine wont let me print in in colour if im out of one black until its replaced. Ive got the 8450, which is the same. I installed a new black genuine epson cartridge and the ink ran out today while i was printing after only 75 pages of documents. Its supposed to be more economically efficient then my ancient photo 890. I then switched to my 890 and completed printing the rest of the 90 page document and then printed a another copy of the 90 page document with my 890 that had less then a quarter of ink left when i started and it was still going strong after all that. And the 890 had a generic ink installed, Whats that all about :?

The DX4400 from Asda for £20 (or £25 in Tesco) is a much better deal, although spec is a little lower.

People often whinge about the inks not lasting long compared to older systems, older epsons have as much as 20ml for a similar price of modern cartridges. what people fail to check is the capacity of these cartridges when they buy them, modern epson cartridges usually have approx 5 - 7.5ml on average which is **** poor compared to some other brands! do your homework and you wont make silly mistakes.

Most printers are chipped now, so you need to buy a chip resetter to do that.

In my experience on my printer you cant. But im annoyed because i swea epson marketed the cocept of 4 individual inks for the whole purpose of only buying and replacing what you use, which for me is usually black, and i cant. Thats the reaosn why i say on mine u cant, cos others may say u should be able to. Hope this helps.
