Thanks RedOnRed. BTW decent review here . Also if you search for BX300F you'll see a few deals previously - some of the info in those threads are useful (e.g. links to cheap compatible cartridges etc)

The spec on Amazon says PC Connection: Hi-Speed USB, Ethernet 10 Base-T/100 Base-TX, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, USB host does this mean it is or can be used wireless ?

Thanks,

Thanks,

I think the description is wrong. It only has USB connection.

Full specs on the Epson site which confirms that it connects by USB.

Thanks all, it would have been nice :-)

Nice find! Don't forget any Amazon cashback/discounts - eg NECTAR eStores points - ie 0.5% discount to save an extra 2p :)

'Compatible' Ink wise you might like ChoicesStationery who do the Inkrite ones at around £2.50 in quantity. (Bought them in the past for another Epson multifunction with same ink cart #s.)

Ended up ordering one as my almost 5yr old 25,000 page later Epson C46 last week started making the sort of noise that makes one think it's old/creaking at the joints and c/be retired as a backup. Double/Quadruple the print quality and the sheet feeder and the opportunity to sell on my under-used scanner w/be extra bonuses. Thanks OP (though noticed it was £40ish at Xmas time - sigh).

Anyone know if this is 'mac friendly'?

Mac OS 10.3.9 / 10.4x / 10.5x or later and it comes bundled with some MAC software. Check out the link I put on earlier for the full spec at Epson.

The printing speed is terrible though... only 1ppm for color...

On the Epson site it officially states that it can do up to 15 ppm in colour.

If anyone wants to get the printer immediately, they have it in Tesco for £48.27 (cant remember exactly the price, this price shown on Direct Tesco).

great printer just ordered get compatible inks for under £1 each bargain plus its got a fax

Brought one a while back for 48 had to pick it up at currys digital. Fantastic printer. Better than buying a scanner and printer separately and the ADF is the best!

I like the idea of having a fax but this is what ive been thinking about getting simply because its better in the quality scale, but has anyone got any experience with this particular model?

Bought one a few weeks back from Amazon, after seeing it on HUKD for around £39.99, I think.

Initial impressions good, although it is used as a secondary printer-scanner for my wife's standalone PC. Was slightly disappointed that it does NOT have a network connection, but not that much of a problem.

Just bought some compatible ink cartridges off eBay for £45 (6x cyan, 6xmagenta, 6x yellow and 12x black).

Scanner quite good and bundled with ABBYY OCR software (best in my opinion). Worked straight out of the box and no problems installing.

On the whole, I feel happy recommending it as a home printer for low-ish volume stuff (but then, who uses an inkjet for high-volume printing!)

I brought this too a few weeks ago cheaper and it came with 2 years warranty, its a little slow but I am happy with the machine and the fax is an added bonus for the price.

Missed the boat it seems - Amazon clearly sold out. Have to wait and see if another value/HUD boat comes along soon - as reported this had been spotted on here at £40 early in the year. As also reported above at £48.27 at Tesco Direct ie only 6% more and potential for Clubcard points & their Deals to recoup much of that.

PS: And if you can control your gag reflex and are so wanton you HAVE to have this printer NOW then the DSG seem to have it available for reserve online at 48.92 Currys/PCWorld - dont forget any Quidco/cashback opportunities to drive their price down as much as possible.

you have large external ink tanks with feeds to the printer CISS I think it's called
banned#28
as far as i know there is not yet a ciss ink system out there to fit this model, the problem usually being the routing for the pipes to the ink tanks is difficult as the scanner needs to be shut and hides the ink cartridges, plus its not a popular model which usually the ciss systems are made for, hopefully one available in the future ill keep using my epson R285 printer with ciss for now and use this for faxing and scanning....

This needs unexpiring as it's available again now.
