I have the BX300F printer. The best thing about these printers imo is the ADF which helps in copying / scanning multiple pages without having to do one page at a time. Great price for this printer.

ebay - 3 full sets (12 carts) = £6.49 delivered

How many prints for each set????
#5
more than 100 pages each time you reset the cartridge (you need to buy the resetter for making cartridge to show in software as full again (one cartridge can done about 3-4 times tho :))
#6
what is a resetter? where can I buy one?

ive got this. pretty decent printer for docs, use decent paper for photo prints as they can be quite grainy compared to a dedicated photo printer. the ADF is good, but it can take fail & take multiple pages at the same time resulting in having to scan again. I usually only scan around 5 pages at a time.

nice price, I paid £98 for this back in October.

Hmm, currently got the Epson SX515W on order with amazon for £50.60.
Don't know if to take the plunge and fork another £8 for this printer.
Anybody got any advice. I heard that the BX610FW is prone to faults though.

Reviews for BX610FW

As I said before, it depends on your usage which one you choose. With BX610FW you get the ADF and Fax too.

Good price, hot for me

Although have read many reviews online, which state this particular model is prone to breaking down alot...

I don't know..

Kodak have seem to won me over recently with their campaign on cheaper ink costs. Their original ink cart costs aren't too bad at all and I would go for them and so my next printer will likely be one of theirs.

3rd party/Ebay cartridges that I have experienced are more miss than hit.

I had this printer and it's fine as long as you stick with genuine ink. 3rd party stuff clogs it up. I twice bought cheap inks, the 1st time I had to have it repaired (I refitted the original cartridges and had it the head deep cleaned under warranty) the 2nd time I risked them it clogged again but was out of warranty and I ended up throwing it away! Have got a Dell Laser now, much better.

I've got the SX515 and am perfectly happy with it. I put compatible cartridges straight in it from day one and has functioned fine. Yeah the quality if the inks arnt as good but not had any problems with clogging. I have always used compatibles over the years and the only problems I have had have either been with the continious ink systems or the ones you refill yourself. Occasionaly get a duff one but at less the £1 a go no big deal. I also work on the philosophy that cheap inks save £100's so if the printer dies outside of warranty because of the inks then at £40-£50 its cheaper to throw one away and buy a new one

These are good printers but I would avoid anything but the official carts as I've seen 3 fail immediately after putting one in. Different brands of cart too. Epson repaired them, but it's not worth the hassle.
#16
Try refillable carts that are fitted with Automatic Reset Chip, very easy to fill, can be a bit messy.
Mine cost about £10 two years ago and are still working fine.

Unless you really need the extra functionality then keep it simple with the SX515W. It has an excellent reputation. Mine ended up at net ~£48 from Comet (10% off for click and collect plus a further £5 for signing up to Comet perks).

Epson are currently offering a warranty extension to 3 years if you buy genuine inks on the same invoice as the printer. May be worth buying one set of genuine inks while this offer is on.

I bought the BX310 for the scanner mainly. I had to return it, as it simply did not work. It had an INCREDIBLY flimsy ADF, and it could not feed more than 1 or 2 pages without jamming. The printer was okay, though, as was the flatbed scanner. That model's now been discontinued, but I would be very very wary about buying and Epson all-in-one again, or at least not if I needed to use the ADF.

Thats strange. I have been using mine for past 4 months without any problem. I do a lot of scanning and scan around 20-25 pages at one time (all through ADF). Never once did it jam. May be its one of those units. As far as Epson is concerned, I am a fan. I had a DX4450 earlier. Great printers they are,,
