Voted hot because i have the epson r300 and this looks like a worthy replacement! Great price and cheap to run, i pay £8 for a full set of 6 compatible cartridges for my current one, the print quality is excellent and cd/dvd printing is a great bonus - its ideal for printing cd's with pictures of kids/pets and turning them into clocks, so makes cherished presents for less than £1.50 that look expensive! Every one ive given one to wants more doing with other photos too!

Voted cold because the cheapest you can get a full set of compatibles for the R265 is about £16 (though they are getting cheaper as more come on the market) compared to the £5 for a set of R200/220 or R300 cartridges.

The R200/R300 prices are incredibly low (I know, I have an R200) and blow every other manufacturer out of the water. However, the R265 is faster and higher quality. In particular it uses much higher quality ink than the R200/R300. As a result, you should see longer resistance to fading and an improvement in overall colour output. For this reason, the compatibles are unlikely to ever fall to R200/R300 price levels. Even so, the cost per page using compatibles will be better than any competing manufacturers product.

I would recommend this over the R200/R300 series because I think the additional speed and quality justify the price premium. Voted hot.

Thanks a lot for all your feedback harlzter, barneydog and Lowtrawler

Sharing your knowledge is much appreciated, I know very little about these printers so it always helps people like me decide whether to go for a deal or not :)

I think the R360 is about £15 more with Jessops i bought mine there about 2 weeks ago and it comes with a card reader to print direct from and also 3.5" lcd screen.

I got my ink from ebay for £16inc P+P and these will come down even more now.

You try finding a R200/220 anywhere you cannot. And these printers are the best out there atm.

Until a few days ago, the R265 was selling for £48.99 at Currys (online) but it has now shot up to £69.99!

Something else to consider when comparing the R265 to the R220, is that the [R265] ink cartridges are not just cheaper, they are also smaller :x
