The DSGi Group has reduced the price of this "Epson Stylus SX105" printer, scanner and copier down to £29.35. At PC World and Currys, it's £29.35 with free delivery. However, Dixons have it for £24.40 with free delivery with delivery charged at £4.95, which also works out at £29.35. I chose to post it as a Dixons deal, as I believe that the delivery charge stays consistent no matter what you order (?) and there's also some Dixons voucher codes which may be applicable should you decide to add anything else to your order.

Only difference I can see is with the 105 you get
ABBYY FineReader® 6.0 Sprint Plus (PC)
ABBYY FineReader® 6.0 Sprint Plus (Mac)
And slight colour scheme change (left 100 / right 105)

The scan resolution of DX8450 is only 600dpi whereas SX100/105 is 1200dpi, but if u prefer card readers and a screen then it is defo better.

both should bare no diff besides colour. typical ploy with goods that fall in the hands of the DSG group (esp TVs) who to tend to change products aesthetically and up the model numbers, in order to carve out exclusivity in the market...

Where is the sx200/205 a few quid extra????

This is a good deal for those who want an all in one and I have added heat. Personally, with laser printers coming down in price, I have gone for speed ratther than a small desk top footprint and bought a colour laser printer for just over £60.

Had several epson's and all have had trouble with compatable cartridges. sometimes even says it's empty when it is nearly full:x:?: unless someone knows better i would like to hear about it:whistling:

colour laser for £60?!

#22
Colour lasers come up at that price from time to time, but they are a mixed bag - they do not print pictures at all well; better for diagrams etc. And of course you have to watch the price of the consumables.

But make sure it's an A to B lead - has a squarish connector on the end that goes to the printer.

That's what they told me in Comet too, but these being £99 printers normally this seemed low, so checked the display box and the correct resolution was displayed on it, though quite hard to find.

I used compatible cartridges in my DX5050 and it's blocked the nozzles on the print head. I'm not quite sure how to fix it, and am quite unwilling to do it again...
#38
Anyone found any good cartridges for this? Not sure what ones to get due to conflicting reports.
I've got it sitting in its packaging still :o - never was very organised

Do you think PCWorld will price match their SX105 against Comet's SX100 then?

Epsom sx105 failed with all lights flashing. Is the lamp gone and would it be cheaper to purchase new one than get repaired???
