Use code 5ALLPRINT to bring it down to £33.24 for Home Delivery or Collect in Store.

I also know McDonalds employees can get 10% off that through their Employee Discount site, works as a voucher sent to your phone.

Can anyone give me some general advice on cheapest option for buying a new printer for my 7 year old girl in terms of most cost effective black and colour cartridges?

Is this one a good deal?

I realise nowadays its not about the cost of the actual printer its the cartridges.

Bought this printer a couple of months ago, but have since replaced it.

It's a good printer, when using genuine ink (£30 a set). But when using compatible inks it works intermittently and keeps rejecting the inks as they are not genuine and "cannot be recognised". So I kept throwing away nearly full cartridges.

At £30 a set I wasn't prepared to use the genuine inks so I've since purchased a Brother DCP 195C (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brother-DCP-195C-Colour-All-In-One-Printer/dp/B002XDZOIK/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1276082060&sr=1-5), double the price of this printer but compatible inks work no problem as they had no chips on the cartridge. I wouldn't recommend the Epson because the running costs are extortionate.

I bought an Epson SX215 for £40 and have used compatible inks on it for the last year. A set of 4 inks cost £4 and last just as long as the genuine ones and none have been rejected or not worked. Overall I've been really pleased and would highly recommend this printer.

Seems to be going price in most places tbh.

Good enough printer, as always the cartridges are expensive,
As I don't do as much printing these days, decided to stick with Epson Carts, the set I bought from Amazon were rejected even though they were genuine:x.
Amazon sent out a brand new set the next day, that were OK, so a thumbs up for them:thumbsup:

Companies are spending more money to stop us using comapats than making their printers better.
I just refuse to buy any printer that makes it difficult to use compatibles. Genuine ink is ludicrously overpriced.
