went to asda today and they had these printers for £35 reduced from £47,not sure if its online too, best price i can see, quite good for printing and scanning and you can get 10 inks for £5.99 delivered of the bay.
#2
Heat added, going to check my local shortly for one

Just like to add - we bought one last weekend (I thought we spotted the deal on here but I can't find it now). For the price you can't beat it, printer, scanner, copier and direct from card printing all for £35!

One of the main reasons we bought it was for the cheap inks, as has been said, and the quality for photo printing is excellent for a cheap printer.

All in all, it's worth every penny of £35 and more!

May get one of these, just got rid of my laser printer that broke, toners were so expensive.

Looks like I'll be going back to inkjets. Does anyone know if these are simple to fit the cartridges? and do the cartridges last very long?

I think the main draw with these is the fact it uses seperate cartridges, and the fact that they can be bought so cheaply(not originals)so all in all a good make to buy at this price.I think there's reviews of it on amazon, safe to say it will be louder than what your used to with the laser printer.I'm after one myself for the above reason, got a Kodak easyshare 5300,and its the worst printer I have ever owned, very rarely prints as it should due to rubbish printhead.

Thanks for that  rep added.

I'm thinking of going for the Samsung ML-1640 now, its a toss between that and this one.

None in stock anywhere near me :-(

had the next model down to this. The inks were cheap but wasted most of it keep cleaning the heads, nozzle checks etc. i used to have an r200 thats why i went for this ...but unlike the r200, this ate ink .
#10
I was worried there I had just been ripped of by pcworld but then checked I had bought the sx515
#11
There are some vouchers in one of the national papers for £5 of £50 spend and £10 off £100 spend so if your doing your shopping too it works out even cheaper ......
#12
Got the SX405 after my HP PSC 2115 died after 7 years of faithful service. Tested it, no problems so far & shared within the home internal network.

I bought this printer from Comet on Xmas sales for the same price. But I do not recommend it.

It takes forever to Print, on a fast computer over 30 seconds before the paper even gets sucked in and a decade before one sheet comes out. I was previously a fan of Epson, so would recommend you buy a better one for a bit more
#14
Bargain.

I got a couple of these from Comet as they're a real bargain. Always buy them in 2s as when you changeover (these things don't last long in my household) you lose nothing on ink and you know the best cheapest ink to use.

Yes, they may not be made of stainless steel with a lifetime warranty but some printers cost £35 to refill. If this does what you need it's a great deal.

And mind it's Windows 7 suitable and it comes with a scanner/copier obviously with card input. That alone makes it very useful for many people even if you don't want the printing side of things most of the time.
#15
Nice price - but can't seem to find them at
Asda online....Maybe i'll check instore.

For those disappointed at ASDA, Amazon still have them for £39.99. Choose free shipping.

Get 2, go on, you know you want them. Last for years they will.

Search the model number of the printer on Ebay and there is inks galore on there for it.

Remember that Epson is known to send Printing Errors saying you need to have it checked by a Technician. When you get this you need to Re-Set the printer settings by downloading software that is Available if you google it for Free.I found this out the hard way after binning 2 epson & so did a Family member, It's a Con but I still use Epson ( SX215 ) because as some have said, It has Individual cartridges & the Fake ink is so cheap.

Yes I bought one last week on 3-5 days free delivery. It arrived the next day. Very quick at scanning, quite slow printing and very noisy taking the paper in - like a 1900's factory machine!

Well worth it for the price - I'm using it on 64bit Win 7.
#22
wow, im sure this is the one i bought from pcworld for £50. brilliant buy
#23
I bought one of these from Comet at Xmas.

All in all they're not a bad machine. Pretty noisy and not the fastest but the quality of the prints are fine.

That'll be SSC Service Utility http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml The SX215 isn't listed but may work.

just picked one of these up from my local asda thanks op was gonna buy some cartridges for my hp printer anyway which would have cost the price of this printer lol so bargain
#26
wheres everybody getting these cheap inks from?
#27

I get my ink from http://tinyurl.com/yd65wrt -that URL goes to eBay (which is banned here for some reason). Make sure you check out their other deals and READ the auction about version (V0.0) number.

That ink is posted minus the boxes from within the UK 2-3 days.

The main reason I go for these older printers is the ink copy carts are well tested so those on eBay are version 6 or 7. Bang on up to date. This also why you aught not to buy cheap ink from market stalls as it could be any old crap.

Yes, these printers aren't amazing quality, but so what. The vast majority of printers are broke by the user being rough. So I'd rather get 1 year out of printer with dirt cheap ink than spend a fortune and still get 1 year.

Still coming up at £47 at Asda Barnsley and Wakefield, anybody know which asda's are selling at £35?
#30
All those Amazon ones are gone (maybe a Seller selling something).

Next best £45 from Comet using the code 10ALLPRINT www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/551422/EPSON-SX215 Instore uplift too which means they ain't got many.

Argos had these instore for £40 too a few weeks back but you'll struggle to get one as my local ASDA had 12 and they disappeared in a few hours.

I think it's the little TV (LCD) screen that sells it to people just passing by.

Just been to my local asda in derby and they have loads left at £35,i used the £5 off £50 spend out of fridays star paper so picked a bit of shopping up and got the printer for £30 ..... result !
