Sure this is the better deal - http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/epson-sx415-printer-40-49-plus-3-qu/753734

Although I'm not too sure of the difference between the 2 models

if you can collect from store, comet have this for £35.99 if you use 10PRINT code during checkout process

direct link

Word of warning, if you try storing map pins in the paper feed like my Step Daughter did, it seriously effects the ability to print.

Got this a few weeks ago when 50 and thought it was a good deal then. cheap aldi inks work fine and picture quality is not much worse than paying a shop to print if you use good paper.

It isn't a quietest or the fastest maybe but I don't know much about printers. More than happy to recommend tho

I bought one of these from ASDA a few monts ago, cracking printer and great results. Got it for exactly the same price, might be worth checking if its the same price if you don't fancy waiting for the postage

it appears that 415 supports:

Compact Flash (Memory card only), MicroDrive, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo*, MagicGate Memory Stick, MagicGate Memory Stick Duo*, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick PRO Duo*, SD, SDHC, MiniSD*, MiniSDHC*, MicroSD*, MicroSDHC*, Multi Media Card, xD-Picture card, xD-Picture card Type-M, xD-Picture card Type-H. *Adapter required (not supplied in box)

...whereas 215 only supports:

MicroDrive, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo*, MagicGate Memory Stick, MagicGate Memory Stick Duo*, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick PRO Duo*, SD, SDHC, MiniSD*, MiniSDHC*, MicroSD*, MicroSDHC*, Multi Media Card, xD-Picture card, xD-Picture card Type-M, xD-Picture card Type-H *Adapter required (not supplied in box)

And 415 has 90 nozzles of each colour versus 29 each in the 215.

415 also boasts a droplet size of 3pl (minimum) with Variable-sized Droplet Technology, compare to the 215's 4pl. Pahh!

Neither prints onto cd/dvd
No use whatsoever to me.

FYI it doesn't work with printing cards either, like when you fold card it's no good for that it jams. but great for everything else for the money + cheap refills.

I've got the 515 - good printers for the money, and as said cheap inks available.

I'd not hesitate to get an Epson over the rubbish pumped out by the likes of Lexmark and (inkjet wise anyway) even HP the last few years. Obviously for laser HP's are still good though.

Picking up an Epson sx115 from Comet today £26.99 .
Use 10% code for this price..

Epson printers are pants tho, noisy and slow, very cheap to buy and run tho but dont seem to last very long from past experience

Yeah, my eldest daughter killed my Canon IP5000 by storing hair grips in much the same way :-/

I've been using one of these SX215 printers for a few months now ( 40 quid in PCW IIRC), prints and scans fine, I use cheapo ink carts no probs., only slight downside is that if you use 'draft' as the default print quality the mechanism really snatches the paper out of the feeder, if it's not sitting 100% correctly in the feed tray it gets mangled easily. Set print quality to 'fine' and it's much more gentle.

I buy these printers for work and they are great for the money. A set of 4 inks cost £2.99, so cheap as chips to run.

Cold!

Actual price of this is usually £45, RRP of £99 is utter crap!

No network support wired or wireless, and no supplied USB cable.
