Also as posted previously cheap ink available from link below - don't know the quality because not ordered any myself yet. Got to be worth a try though at 79p per cartridge!

Damn, paid £53 for this 3 weeks ago, saying that its stuck in Hull at HDNL as it has been since the 8th of December, might try Amazon for a rebate.
#5
I bought this printer about 12 months ago for around £90, which was a good price then.
I have to say it's a superb piece of kit! Very impressed and cheap replacement ink too!

Cannot print direct to CD/DVD disc.

Can this scan to a pdf document (rather than jpg/bmp)?

Aksi, does this have the job mode - to scan multiple pages in a single pdf file?

Not used this one, but the software that came with my Canon Lide Scanner can both do both (will prompt you and ask if you want to add another page to the PDF after having finished scanning).

I got this with the Apple Printer promotion for £30. It really is very good, both in terms of printing and scanning.

Love this printer... Quick to print, cheap enough ink...

I'm having issues with mine. Had it 6 months used it infrequently.

Was low on ink so I purchased the original epsom Cheetah pack from play.
Went fine but after a couple of weeks without use it seized up. Called Epsom and they advised me to multiple nozzle cleans, and if that doesn't cure it buy some more ink!
I'm half tempted to buy another just for the bluumin ink!
#12
Great spot OP...been looking at this for a while and now can't say no with this price... ...got a free one month trial to Prime too (...just need a new email address), so should be getting this by tuesday! :D

...Lava hot by the way!!!

A useful feature my old Epson RX640 has, can also scan 35mm negs and slides none of the new Epson range has this (neg scanning)

Thanks just ordered one.

Cracking deal. Was going to buy one of these off E-Bay for £66, so gets heat from me.

Word of advice to all thinking of getting this printer.

I had this exact same model for 6 months and it shat out on me (I know, I know - its tech and it fails... but do read on). I originally purchased it from Tesco as it was mispriced (£79 instead of £99). When it shat out, I looked at the Amazon reviews and many people had similar problems. Phoned up Epson, they said to take it into their repair centre which was only 70 odd miles away. Either this or they would arrange for a courier to collect (£10 charge for this). On top of this, they did not have any refurbished replacements to send meaning I would of had to pay £40 to get the next model up. Luckily, I had the receipt from Tesco and took it back for a brand new replacement... which went up on eBay as soon as I got in.

I was a HUGE fan on Epson printers, my previous Epson (DX3800) has lasted me a little over 3-4 years (still going strong) and this SX515W didn't even last 6 months. Customer service is shabby and i've moved on to a different brand.

just contact them .. they'll usually refund the difference :)

I'm tempted by the price. But with the fiasco I've had with home delivery over the past few weeks, I'd rather pay £10 extra and get it at Argos.
#22
You can get the printer ink over here - http://www.buytech.co.uk/ink_search_results.php?valueid=147&cat=257. It costs 79p per black cartridge.

Will do, they don't say on their help pages what happens when the price drops but I might as well contact them before it actually gets posted. Was happy with £52.70 but even better at £47.11.

I ordered these spare ink cartridges From here
These have 19ml of ink, some of the others mentioned only have 13.5ml

Got mine from Very with a code for £37 about a month ago, it's a really good printer I have no complaints used it over Wifi a couple of times with no issues.

Most epson printers can scan document be it text (includiing pdf) or photos. Not sure about scan multiple pages in a single pdf file? Why don't you open the file in pdf and ust print it?

The trouble I have with all my epsons (3 of them) had been that there was always something wrong with the suction. In the end, I have had enough and have been using HP which prints much faster but the ink also goes at similar speed!

Good printer at a good price but be wary if you really need it for Christmas. I'm still waiting for a camera shown as shipped first class on 14 Dec (5 days so far). Yes, I know there is bad weather in parts of the country, including here now, but it was fine most places when they claimed it was shipped. Massive shipping backlogs I think.

Any idea how/where? They haven't answered an email about overdue shipping which I sent two days ago and price has gone down on that item now too.

Thankyou. O/H has been badgering me about getting a wi-fi printer as we have 3 laptops and a desktop in the house so have gone for this as had some Amazon gift certificate money to spend. Reviews seem mostly ok and compatible ink cartridges are pretty cheap so a no-brainer really at this price.

If you want to scan, buy this one from Rymans at £49.99. It has a document scanner and scans 9 pages a min at 300 dpi to pdf files. 10% discounts for students, too.

No wireless on that one, but it has usb and ethernet. It does not print as fast as the SX515W, though.

Good luck getting them for christmas. I have a stack of stuff that was ordered from Amazon on 7th December, picked up by Royal Mail on 9th December and tracking shows it hasn't moved since then! I can see me going to Tesco on Thursday to buy everything again as I can't have the kids waking up to a christmas with no presents.

I can highly recommend this... I have one myself and its brilliant. Very quick printing, cheap ink available & works as a photocopier too.

Mine is linked (via wireless) to both a Desktop running Vista and to a PS3 too...

...I have also recently installed another one (bought in £48 Comet deal) at my parents house and again I set that up via wireless method (for a laptop running Windows 7).

So what I am saying is overall its a very good printer and is easily installed (contrary to some reviews!).

P.S. Easiest installation method is probably to set up the wireless via the printers own lcd menu.

Great price - I got mine at comet for around 48 quid a couple of weekends ago. Not opened it yet as it's a xmas present for me!

Do you have to use it regularly to make sure the ink nozzles don't clog up? If you buy new cartridges, does that solve the problem, or are the nozzles part of the printer rather tham the cartridge?
#35
Thanks. Went for one based upon the comments in this tread. Hope it's good. X)

Thanks for all the heat everyone :)

Quite looking forward to receiving mine - been without a decent printer for a couple of years. We went for the 3 year insurance also just in case. Seems pretty cheap at £10.

I don't normally buy these insurances (poor value with hefty profit margin) but that seems exceptionally good. The chances of a problem with a printer over three years must be significant, even a decent one like this.
