Argh! I ordered this at about 11am last night for £6 more! Damnit Amazon. Do they still do the "refund the difference" thing?

I ordered them off my favourite auction website, item no. 230576103143. Information was courtesy of someone on the earlier Rymans posting for this. They came very quickly (ordered at the beginning of the week, had them on Friday).

Also, Hot Deal! Great find.

no - i tried this at christmas .. they sent me an email saying :

Further to your email, I would like to offer an explanation of some of the particular considerations which have led us to adopt this policy.

There are several million titles listed on our website, some of which have never been ordered from us and may not have been ordered by any retailer for quite a while. It would be impossible for us to regularly check on the price of each item, and so we must rely on the data supplied by publishers and other suppliers. We update our website regularly with data from many sources, but occasionally this
information is out-of-date or incorrect.

We make every effort to keep abreast of the changes in the status of items, and we feel that having an on-line computerised catalogue allows us to update it more regularly. Publishers do, however, change the list prices of titles regularly and with so many titles in our catalogue there will unavoidably be a few instances where an item's price may have changed without our knowing it.

As you can see that currently the price of the item "Epson Stylus SX515W High-Speed All-in-One Printer with Individual Inks and Wi-Fi" has since been increased to 52.70 GBP.

Click the link below to see the current price of the above item:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00292X5IQ

I hope this information is helpful.

We apologise for any disappointment caused.

Why not order based on this price and return the one you ordered last night. You pay nothing to return it.

I ordered mine before Christmas last year and found out the price gone down a few days later. I emailed them and asked for refund on the price difference. They did refund me at the end.

Just had an email from them. Apparently they will refund me the difference but it is a 'one off' due to the exceptional circumstances (I ordered at about 11am last night). Yay.

Get yourself the CISS if you're planning on doing heavy printing.

Compatible inks for Epson printers are dirt cheap-
ebay Item number: 220629368659

But keep in mind that a lot of people have had problems with compatible ink over time so I would suggest getting yourself the CISS-
ebay Item number: 170585163730

mod edit: no tiny links pls

Got a couple of weeks ago. Ink is cheap. Bought on ebay. 12 inks for well under £5. Cant remember exactly how much it cost.

Good price. I paid 55 pounds from Amazon in December last year. This is a good printer - Highly recommended at this price.

Just got this from Amazon:

"Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

The discounts we offer for items on our website do vary from time to time. I've checked your order #202-3696493-0675518 and found that we now offer a greater discount on " Epson Stylus SX515W High-Speed All-in-One Printer with Individual Inks and Wi- fi " than at the time you placed your order.

We do understand your concern about the price of the item has been reduced after you have placed the order.

Unfortunately, we cannot extend a refund to you for the difference between the original price and the lower price you saw posted on our website.

While we don't always beat the best available price on every product, we do offer deep discounts on many thousands of items. From time to time, prices on some items will change due to special offers from suppliers and manufacturers or our inventory and sales volumes. When we can offer a lower price for new purchases we will, but we cannot extend these discounts to completed orders.

I am sorry for any disappointment that this may cause. I hope you'll be able to take advantage of the many discounts we offer on your next visit to our store.

Thank you for shopping at Amazon.co.uk."

To those that think this is a good price, it's not an all in one...it has no Fax. Sent mine back.

Could always send it back under distance selling regs and order a new one.

Doesnt matter if you've opened it and connected it all up. You're only requirement is that you've 'taken reasonable care of it'.

well I've got a Lexmark (i know expensive cartridges) but that was £39.99. It's a good price but no Fax ruins it when it says its all in one when it's not. I emailed them and they said to refuse delivery and got a full refund, so top marks for Amazon CS.

Yes, buy almost any Epson A4 inkjet at the moment and buy a set of original inks (Cheetah or Rhino in this case) AT THE SAME TIME and you can claim an extended warranty to 3 years. If you want to use compatibles you can always sell on the originals on the bay!

I've had this for a few months. Every other time I use it, the wireless won't work (the printer won't communicate with my laptop) and I have to go in and reconfigure to get it to work. Real pain the butt and much more trouble than just using one connected to a usb.

if its not been dispatched just cancel your order and re-order it.
#34
Ordered one from Amazon, missed the special offer on the warranty though to busy pressing keys, says I can't cancel and reorder at the moment, but at this price I'm not losing any sleep. £44.60 at Pixmania via PrudentPanda but I'm happier with Amazon

Mine works fine, but I'm pretty sure I configured it with a static IP address because I couldn't see how this would work reliably if the router dished it out a different IP address at some point.

I want to connect this (hard wire) to a Dell tower (running Windows 7) and make it available to a couple of laptops (wirelessly) running Vista. As a total plonker when it comes to computers am I liable to have a prob, or are the instructions followable?

To be honest, the instructions are pretty bad and hard to follow. I eventually ignored the instructions and did it all manually, after which it was fine, but if you're not too comfortable with computers and networking then you might not get on with it too well. I remember researching this before buying it myself and a there were quite a few people saying that setup was difficult. For that reason I tried to follow the instructions just to see if it was people not following them properly, but having followed them and failed I'd say it's the instructions that are at fault!
