I've just found out that Epson doesn't provide Win 7 driver updates for a scanner only 2 years old. This is unacceptable. Never again anything from Epson for me!

I saw this posted on the SX-115 thread (£31.49 at Comet). Decided on this one for the extra few quid. Picked up some compatible inks 3 sets + 2 extra black on fleabay for £6.99.

Collecting the printer tomorrow. Noisy by all accounts but won;t bother me the amount I use it.

Shame I missed on on these for £35 at ASDA (instore) recently.

My 5 year old Epson Scanner is working fine with Win7. Try Vista or XP drivers, will probably work.

The best scanning software is Vuescan, they have a generic driver that would probably do. You can evaluate Vuescan for nothing, will leave a watermark on each scan until serial is entered.

Thanks. Vuescan is what I use now (not as easy as the Twain driver though). Still, why should I have to pay extra just because they don't care. Then I've heard that HP isn't much better with upgrading drivers either. So it's buy cheap and throw out for the future purchases. Not very environmentally friendly tho.

Lets be honest these companies dont really give a monkies about the environment....just profits...and for £40 notes its almost a disposable item that will probably be replaced in a few years time........ive got a perferctly good stylus c64 that ill throw down the tip as dont ned it anymore.....shame but thats life!!

Agree and my Lexmark x74 can't be used with vista either so looking about for an all in one - epson at least allow cheap ink cartridges - cant stand HP personally lol
