Important Note: Never look a gift Oris in the mouth!
#9
This is a great price as it has perpertual calendar and it is also titanium.

Thing is "better" is such a subjective term. Yes Oris watches are nice but:

Most Oris watches are based on a swiss automatic movement which on a good day will loose or gain around 3 seconds plus, so they are certainly not "better" at keeping time.

Materials and build quality wise it would be very difficult for any watch to be "better" than this Citizen.

Features wise again, apart from the Atomic version of the same watch, it would be very difficult to be "better" than this Citizen.

Name on Dial? Well yes if that is the importent thing then lots of better labels out there.
#11
Citizen and Oris are mere disposable junk when compared to my hand crafted Patek ;)

Personally would rather spend the same money and get an LCD clock.

In a DB9

Anything is better than nothing (except on HOTULDEALS nothing means you save money!)

Oh yes, Armani...that suit manufacturer that puts its name on someone else's generic watches and then adds a few extra zeros onto the end of the price....

Also, for an Oris, you would be paying approx TEN times the price of this watch!

Looks good to me.

Nice looking watch, Voted Hot. .............and apart from really cheapo "Market" watches, most watches these days are quite well built. I'll take a cheap Timex anyday over most designer watches, having said that designers are choosing better pieces to brand with their logo.

And just exactly, how-on-time, do we all need to be? If you're not an aviator, astronaut or in the Spec-Forces, why do we care about 3 seconds either way?

Patak make watches? I thought they just made curry sauces and Nan Breads, great to know they are diversifying. Always good to have another string to your bow! :-D

lol.brilliant.

to the guy who owns the patek-where do you live? and when are you next going out? (kidding)

of course you would rather a patek philipe.arguably the "best" watches on earth but i doubt the "hand crafted" patek would keep as good time as this (which i own also).
i am a bricklayer and this watch is as tough as they come.it has been run over by a digger and lived.the glass is scratched to heck but that is rubbing against brick walls and my own fault.

as stated earlier the atomic version is the one to get but it is dearer.voted hot

None in stock at Watford, Harrow, or Brent Cross - asked a person from one branch to phone the head office, They have never heard of this watch. Moreover they have no reductions on any of their Citizen watches.

Has anyone else beside the OP actually managed to get one??

Withabix - can you please post the product reference number here? I was told all Ernest Jones products have this, and it should consist of a number sequence e.g. 6411703

very nice, real mans watch!

4616901 or could be 4610901 - from photo I took on phone before I sent the missus to buy it for me!

 erm.

Maybe they lose 3 secs a day because something is loose?
#25
Do they have any good deals on any other ecodrive watches? I've been after one for some time, but this particular model is just too ugly.
#26
This has always (and still is) been a great looking watch but if you look around you should be able to get the latest radio controlled version (and even better looking) for not too much more.
#27
4616901 is the product code for this watch but two stores I phoned had it at the full retail price! Looks like the OP got lucky and bought a mispriced watch!!

Christmas come early for some :)

[COLOR="Navy"]Surely the Patek is not "yours"; you are merely looking after it for future generations!

I have had this model for 4 years now. It is fantastic, well made and keeps excellent time  Patek Phillipe watches are for posers with more money than sense :whistling:

http://www.artoftime.com/web/en/watches/?showid=10442 Just ordered ten of these puppies instead of the citizen, an absolute steal, thought I'd get them before the exchange rate drops any further.

Did anyone successful buy one other than the OP?

Phoned my nearest shop, they denied all knowledge and "I assume" thought I was on drugs.

Went to pick up the last one from Enfield. It was priced at £142 but was the last display model. I asked the mangler if it was pristine and was told 'This is the Enfield store, everything is kept in first class condition'! When I got to the shop I found the winder to be missing! Nice 42 mile trip.... Heat added thanks for the heads up OP although it didn't work out for me
#34
The birmingham and solihull stores didnt even have a citizen line!
#35
I've got this watch andd it is fantastic well recomended
#36
Thank you OP

My wife went and got me his for xmas, for those who are being told not in stock, insist they order it!!

My local store did not carry citizen watches, but they looked on the computer and ordered it from a shop that did have them in stock.

Remember they need your buisness, even though they are a bit stuck up the staff
