Hmm... this seems expensive. Although you're getting an Ageia PhysX card it's paired with an 8600GTS... for near £1000 for a base unit I'd expect an 8800 of some description, especially seeing an 8800GTS can be bought retail for £150.

This one from Mesh, for example. First one I looked at: http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=228125

£699.

I don't think the RAM is that much is it :giggle:

I think you have all missed the point of the post, its a missprice with a discount for upgrading the hard drives and if one or more of the members here were looking to buy a Dell XPS 720 this is a bargain over the usual price.

Agreed, I was one of the members that benefitted from Mike's similar post a year ago (XPS 700 for £650ish after quidco). I got a free XPS 720 upgrade this month too, courtesy of Dell :)

By the way, the free upgrade for XPS 700 owners ends today:

You can but the hard drive error is only on this ecode so it would be full price less the voucher.

if you want to keep your data choose raid 1 if you are able to get this price via a operator or format the machine and choose that option in the raid setup.
i got my raid zero from dell and one drive died lost it a lot...
[mod]#11
If your using raid 0 to speed up disc transfer then you should also be using ghost or something like it to backup your drive contents. Mirroring the drives is safer but slower, your choice in the end.

I don't think it is a price error because the 320G hds are with the speed of 10k rpm and the 640G ones are only 7200rpm

Take a look at evalue code D10XP5A

The hard drive configuration is totally different and this therefore seems to be a misprice on evalue code D10XP5AXP

:)
