  AVG is awful, Avast just about cuts it, but is a real memory hog... what others are there that are actually any good?

  The new Avast has massively reduced memory usage compared to version 5. Avira is pretty light but has adverts. If you aren't downloading blocking at website level is best, Panda cloud av, web of trust and norton dns are a good comobo for malware site filtering.

  Have been an ESET customer for a good few years now. I've had teething issues with various versions of it's Smart Security Suite a few times, but have kept coming back to them as it just seems superior to other competiting products from the likes of McAfee.
  FWIW, I use Microsoft's Security Essentials on my home PCs (as that seems to "do the job"), but all our business PCs are running this.

  My bad - I was still using the Beta and 99% of resellers haven't updated their own products to show V5 yet!
